MERCURY 4-Stroke Engine Oil

Q: Can i use this oil in a polaris atv 500

I've worked at a yamaha dealer for 25 years. Although we do not sell polaris, I would not use this oil unless I absolutely had to and I would drain it as soon as possible and put the proper oil in the atv. It can be honda,yamaha,kawasaki,polaris,suzuki, but I would run a motorcycle brand oil of the recommended weight for your climate. The older yamaha atvs,honda,kawasaki etc that use to have semi auto transmissions had clutch plates in them. The motorcycle brand oils have an additive for those clutch plates. Sure you could use a plain penzoil, Castrol etc but you would wear out your clutch plates faster. I think the polaris 500 is a belt so it's not the same but oil is cheap compared to dealer labor and parts.

I don’t see why not. The Viscosity rating is the same and it’s a mercury based oil. Should be good.

Probably, but check the owners manual.

Q: Could you please tell me what is the difference between mercury synthetic oil and mercury quicksilver oil?

synthetic is for our car looked at quicksilver which has more lubricate in it but did not order it.dont know much about quicksilver oil.

Exactely As Ordered

Merc oil was received in great shape and properly sealed, no leaks. Oil is the same as Quicksilver and less expensive, plus is recomended by Merc. Good price and fast ship. Cannot beat Prime.
