ImperialCat Neat and Tidy,28 Litter Sifting Liners, 36" x 40", 2 Regular liners

Now that our elderly cats have decided they no longer will work with the automated cat box after 10 years, we've switched back to a regular catbox with very high sides. We use a large Hefty bag around the box so when it's time to dump all the litter, we just carefully invert the bag over the litter in the box and pull the ties shut. No muss, no fuss. And now we're laying these sifting liners on top of the Hefty bag, litter goes on top of all. I only do the sifting bit once or twice a week (2 cats). The trick is to slowly separate the top liner from the others, keeping a hold on the corners and sides if you can so the flat liner forms a bag where the litter is and gently lift so the loose litter goes through the holes and back in the box. After the loose stuff empties back into the box, I kind of shift the bag around a bit so the loose litter trapped by the clumps can get out. Then I put the used liner and dirty litter into a garbage bag, spread out the loose litter now in the box, top off the box a little, and try to get the high sides to sit on the box (all those layers of plastic make it a little tricky but it's not a biggie). Since they're used to the auto-box, our cats haven't had to bury their stuff so don't try to do so in this new sifting situation. If you lift the sifting plastic carefully and gently, you'll have no tearing or spilling, just know in advance what you're going to do with the dirty litter and be prepared. One minus star since this brand costs more than some others.

These are OKAY ONLY if you CAN'T FIND the Alfapet (pretty sure this is the company, I know it comes in a Blue Box) Kitty Cat 5 Count Sifting Bags with ELASTIC Sta-Put Technology bags in your GROCERY STORE. They are too expensive on the web.Those bags have become so popular and are at such a reasonable price in stores, the only store in our area that carries them, the H.E.Bs (we live in Texas) cannot keep up with the demand (I also gathered that the company may be having some issues meeting the demand for making them, as they are the best and most reliable of all the litter bags on the market - I have pretty much bought everything that's ever come out).That said, these bags have managed to work fairly well on my over sized litter box with hood (and without using that ridiculous and useless rubber band). If you are as desperate as I was, these are your best bet. THE TRICK is to NOT SEPARATE the BAGGIES when you INSTALL THEM. You may LOOSEN the FIRST ONE, but DO NOT BY ANY MEANS BREAK THE OTHERS UP. Separate them as you go, it will make your life a whole lot easier.I would also recommend that you put two HEAVY DUTY ELASTIC FITTED CAT BAGS at the bottom of the pile. Trust me on this one.

Convenience

These are good in theory but the plastic really needs to be stronger material for them to actually work. My cat tears through the top 3-5 layers with his claws, so a package doesn’t last me very long. If I only remove the top layer, there are massive holes and all of the waste just falls through to the next layer. I have to remove several each time I clean the box. I wish each piece had elastic too because it gets weighed down and somewhat difficult to separate from the pile. Overall I don’t feel like it saves me much clean litter. I think I was better off just replacing the whole bag with new litter every week instead of trying to make this work. That being said, it’s a creative idea and could work if better executed.

These litter sifting liner sheets are awesome. Inside each bag is 28 sifting layers and 2 full plastic layers. The full plastic layers go on the bottom, and then you place half the set of the sifting layers on top of them. I just came to the bottom of a set of these and pulled it out the full layer. No caked on litter to be hosed out and no ammonia smell. I really like not having to deal with the stuck on litter anymore.It seems best fitted for a normal/medium sized box. I had a large one, but downsized so these would work. Clumping litter works best. I've had some issues of breakage, due to my cat trying to "bury" too close to the plastic. He will accidentally occasionally rip them, but I'll just go back in with a scooper and tidy up. It sometimes is an additional step, but overall saves time and cat litter. Don't use these with a scooper with pointed ends, it'll rip through that too.Update: Went to reorder this item (twice!) and two day shipping didn't occur, postponed by a week - which is difficult when you need this item as a refill. You can buy similar items at walmart in a pinch and that is what I will probably end up doing.

Great product,really makes the least pleasant part of having a cat easy.Some people report having difficulty with the elastic holding the liners in place but I have only found that to be an issue now I'm down to the last few liners of my current batch and only where my cats tend to scratch as they go through motion of scratching to bury.Overall very happy,no stink and always a fresh clean box.Will be a repeat customer for sure.

Cant live without it now. Take littaraly 1min to have a clean litter
