Black Hat Python is a really fascinating book for security-minded python programmers. It comes with plenty of code examples, which are clearly explained. It's worth noting that the code is Python 2.x however, so if (like me) you're more familiar with Python 3.x, some of the examples will need to be modified before they'll run, and you may have a harder time ferreting out some of the libraries mentioned.

Great fun so far
Great fun so far, (amazon take note:) do yourself a favour and buy the paper version. I'm learning pretty quickly that the Kindle versions of code books are generally badly laid out - I've lost count of time lost scouring the python docs for 2.7->3.5 changes when the problem was an indentation error caused by the very poorly formatted code presentation. Formatting is particularly important in languages like python that are white space sensitive, a tab in the wrong place can screw the actual meaning of the code, and cost you time debugging a silly error. I bet the publishers spent a little more time getting the print copy right, shame on you amazon. 2 stars for the kindle version + 5 stars for the print version = 7 stars : 3.5 star average score, rounded up to 4 star.

Great book but.......
Like I said it's a great book if you are moderate to higher in your python exposure, a beginner can use it if your good a grasping new concepts quickly. the book is very good if you want to learn the "darker" side of scripting, but the only catch really is the book is out-dated and needs a volume 2 with all of the python and kali updates included. Its because if you try and set up your environment now to how the book explains you will have a pretty confusing time (Especially if you're still green). There have been a number of Kali Linux updates that have changed a number of thing on how the OS functions plus Python is in the third iteration and the book is written for 2.3 (please don't quote this, but I'm sure it is that) so some of the code in the book doesn't work. also for a side note; some of the atttact vectors that the book gives you may have been patched. But please understand that this is a good book if you need some reference material, and again don't be swayed but my criticisms, this is a good book which can teach you some fun things to try.
