The Kings and Queens of England

I bought this to replace a copy I had for years. I keep it among the books in my entertainment center. It is a great reference when I am watching historical fiction, as I am able to get a quick rundown of the various monarchs, their houses and lineages. The book is beautiful, nicely formated, and colorfully illustrated.

A very descriptive book on my Royal lineage! I have another volume,The Kings and Queens of England & Scotland, authored by Plantagenet Somerset Fry; but this book is much more in explaining the Royal families. A very impressive addition to my library on the British royalty and direct ties to German monarchy to which I am directly related to Prince HIRH Prince George Friedrich Ferdinand of Prussia. Well written

This book was a valentine's day gift for my husband, and a great success. It is well written, organized and handsomly illustrated. Highly recommended for interest in the historical lineage and inter-relationships of the, Kings of England.

When I ordered this book, I was looking for another, simpler, all-narrative paperback I'd owned for years but lost to a flood. When it arrived, all full of pictures and asides and coated stock and pretty, I almost sent it back. But then I started keeping it on my coffee table to consult as I watched "The White Princess," "The Tudors," etc. (I get my Henrys mixed up). I've been very happy with the combination of information and gorgeous production values.

Some assessments of kings or queens colored by modernism. Rarely do they rely on contemporary assessments of royalty. Disappointing.

Motor City Books has been great and I have ordered several books from them. They are always prompt and the books are as stated. Today I received this book and it is in great shape. This will be the 5th book I have ordered about the British Monarchy and as soon as I finish #4, I will start this one. It is fascinating to read about the older kings and queens and how they rose to power.

This is a great reference book for those of us who like to read about England's monarchy, starting at the beginning and continuing in order of their reign, with details of their parents, spouses, and children. It gives summaries of events. describes personalities, relationships, strengths and weaknesses, alliances, foes and betrayals. I keep it handy for reference when watching movies about this subject, such as "The Queen," "Her Majesty, Mrs. Brown," "Elizabeth," and "The White Queen."

My Grandson was talking about Matilda, the first British Queen. I have a copy of this book, couldn’t bear to part with it, so I looked to find him a reasonable copy. This book is larger and in excellent condition. I am more than pleased.
