Much needed add on to the x1 pro max
The beacon and Joystick set are great additions to the x1 pro max. it allows for very precise flying, and use on the drone without your phone. Much needed if you want to fly outside of its preprogrammed maneuvers. I have not used the beacon as just a beacon yet.

Works great…
Works great but using a larger phone is a tight fit that stretches the limit of the holder. (Galaxy 22 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max) The battery life out lasts the Hoverair drone batteries. I can usually get through at least two regular drone batteries before I have to recharge the beacon.

Left joystick defective
Arrived with a non working left joystick, even after updates performed. Will return. Update… replacement arrived and working

Mom Approved: Capture Family Memories Like a Pro
The HoverAir X1 ProMax has completely changed the way I capture family memories, hands-free launch and auto-follow mean I can finally be in the moment instead of just behind the camera. The footage of my kids running, biking or celebrating special moments is smooth, cinematic and the picture quality is awesome. I also purchased the HoverAir Beacon and JoySticks and I’m truly impressed by the innovation and quality, they make controlling and tracking the drone so much easier and unlock features I didn’t even know I needed. I did have a small hiccup with the Beacon at first but HoverAir’s customer service was responsive and very helpful, which gave me confidence in the brand. The HoverAir X1 ProMax combined with the Beacon and JoySticks, is a must-have for any parent who wants to capture life’s special moments in a cinematic way. Highly recommended!

Support is non-existent and their warranty is worthless.
The drone is alright, but the company is absolutely worthless. Their warranty is written in such a way that they will never have to honor it. Read the fine print, it basically says if you use it under any conditions, the warranty is void. I followed their guidelines for safe flight, and much to my surprise, during manual control the drone randomly shot off in a direction, and then forcefully collided with the ground going full speed. When I filed a warranty claim, their basically said there's nothing they can do and that I have to pay $390 for a replacement. I could go buy another for $600, so they are basically telling me to go buy a brand new one. What a joke of a company. Their software is obviously full of bugs. There were multiple times when I was connected to the drone from my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra where it would stop communicating, even at low distances. The drone would also not save settings even after setting it multiple times. Save your money and go with a trusted company like DJI or Potensic. Their software is better, and they actually stand behind their products and are willing to sacrifice a little bit of money to help their customers.

It didn’t connect
It was not connecting to my phone and causing issues with my actual drone to not connect with my phone. Overall bad experience I believe is a great product, but it did not work for me.

Seriously superior support!
Having purchased the Beacon to upgrade the flying experience of my X1, I was hopeful that this would all work. My initial attempts to forge communication between the drone and the Beacon failed. I googled the situation, only to discover that others had, had similar experiences. The firmware upgrades needed were not possible via the convential means. This searching also unearthed a PC upgrade approach using a software tool called Flykit, available from Hoverair support. I messaged support with precise details of firmware on the Beacon, X1 and the app version currently deployed, together with serial numbers. Within 12 hours, I received a detailed response with a download link to Flykit, and instructions regarding how to use it. Bingo.....success! From the jaws of despair, I was rescued, and will remain eternally grateful to Hoverair's support department for their prompt and precise attentions. Oh, and the Beacon has made a huge difference, especially for a biker like me!
