20B-HEAT Prestone Driveway Heat Concentrated Ice Melter, 20-Pound

I really like this product. I no longer have pets or small children and there are rarely pets not on a leash in neighborhood. This works really well, eats through the ice quickly without damaging the several different surfaces I use it on. I have two composite decks with stairs, one brick stair, a brick patio, cement walkway and asphalt driveway. I haven’t had any issues with any of these surfaces. I do wait until surfaces, especially concrete cure for a year before using.It’s light, pellets are easy to shake out fairly evenly and stays put. It hasn’t harmed my lawn or planting like rock salts.Best for me product I have tried and I now always buy early in fall as it sells out by Christmas here so I guess I am not the only person who prefers it.

All I have to do is shovel, sprinkle a little of this on the walkway and where my car is parked and it melts the ice. The product works for several days during freezing temps and a little goes a long way.Purchase this stuff in spring or summer because it can sell out quickly. The last big snow storm we had in southeast Virginia produced about 10 inches of snow and 5 consecutive days and nights of below freezing temps with wind chills in the negative digits. I had to sprinkle Preston's Heat only once ... no ice where I walk. I even sprinkled it around and behind my car wheels due to getting stuck in a small patch of snow. The product gave me enough traction to get unstuck!Love it!

Pure enough hygroscopic calcium chloride to use as moisture absorber refill. Also good for preventing ice formation in the occasional northwest subfreeze.

I absolutely LOVE this product!! I bought this last winter and fell in love with this specific product! I've tried a few others and this brand works the best. The trick is it put it down at the beginning or before the snow storm. I put a good amount down in my driveway and hours later my driveway is still clear while all my neighbors are shoveling. I honestly couldn't tell you how much shoveling it has saved me from doing! It's such a great product that I bought it for my parents house and my former mother-in-law! The price fluctuates with Amazon sellers so the value for the money varies, but even when it's higher with the sellers its still less expensive than the local stores by me.

Very effective

Our driveway is at an incredibly awful incline. It's probably the highest you can legally have constructed. The water from the gutters will fall on the driveway and drip down and freeze. The sidewalk is flat at the bottom, so it pools there and forms a thick layer of ice. This winter was particularly rough, and I got stuck trying to get up the driveway after coming home from work. I got this stuff and spread it around and it worked wonders. My roommate even came home a few days later and asked if I had used de-icer because our driveway had literally zero ice on it while the neighbors had a sheet of ice (like ours usually is). Would totally buy again.
