These are good - a new superfood!
These things are good. Level set your expectations - they are firm and can be hard to chew until they soften up a bit. They can be soaked prior to eating to soften them. They have a nutty slightly sweet flavor. They are not nuts they are tubers.

Very hard outer shell
Interesting flavor, I like it. The nuts have a very hard outer shell and a somewhat softer interior. I will certainly finish eating the pound I bought, but may not order more for the sake of my teeth.

You’ll get a sub-par product and need a dentist
The biggest issue is the packaging shows unpeeled tiger nuts, but you’ll get unpeeled ones. They’re hard as pebbles and if you try to eat, you’ll break a tooth. I guess they require soaking, though the seller provides no information on this. Just avoid these altogether.

Quality good, just not my thang.
Well packaged and appear to be of good quality but the rhine is so chewy makes jaw sore. Will probably toss the bag.

I love these.
I really like these. I eat them right out of the bag. They taste like nuts and are nice, considering they are dried tubers. But... If you have kidney stones or gout, this is high in oxalates. I bought not thinking of that. I was avoiding nuts because of oxalates. I didn't think a tuber would be high in them. But they taste great. I have not soaked them to see what they taste like, soft and hydrated. If you do not have kidney stone issues. This is an incredibly healthy food source for hikes or emergencies. These are packed with lots of good stuff.

How would they be fresh???
It seems that one can buy these root tubers only dried... and they are really dried, as in hard. I ate one for the first time, just out of the bag, chewing it slowly. They are small like chick peas, and hard like dried nuts. Lots of fibers, and once you chew them, they release a subtle sweet flavor.... but the most marking perception is their fibrous nature. Since it said that they get better when soaked, I did that. After soaking for 12 hours, they were wet, but barely any softer. Since I have never tasted them fresh, I cannot say if this is how they are when fresh. All I can say is that soaking did not soften them up significantly, or make them taste differently. In conclusion, from a taste point of view, I find them middle of the road. I am a vegan, hence plants is all I eat! I can see that they might be a survival food, since they have all the nutrients! But I would not call them "comfort" food, lol. I'm glad I went for the small size bag. I'll eat them.

Found them too crunchy initally (found them better after a long soak) much more interesting, healthy tasting & they are a great source of fibre.
