This is my second corded (b+d ) strimmer. This one is more user friendly than previous model( which had the motor at cutter end inducing higher fatigue). In this new model motor in switch side and not over hung. New model has long cord. My apprehension was on bend shaft which is inefficient and may generate more heat. ( New model 700 W compared to older model of 600 W). It is so, but not a great disadvantage. One can take a break which is beneficial for man and m/c. This model has one side line( 2mm) for normal use , but for thick bush, 2 sided one more set is given. I haven't understood the design philosophy of single line cutting which induces more vibration. M/c supplied line ( 2mm) was limited in length and later I used available 1.6 mm line. It did not work properly, the spool unwounded. There is a strong reco from b+d to use 2mm line only. Quite unfortunately, both design use a reduction gear which is non metallic. That will be the item first to damage and life get limited. I don't know why b+d cannot improve on it. The mc comes with square pin where as in India, we are having round socket. So , an interface adaptor needed or we have cut the cable and replace with round pin. Line auto feed is working, but I have not understood the principle behind it. This m/c is more rugged than previous version, still spool cap can get damaged,if it hit ground or stone. ( end of life) By and large my apprehension on bend shaft which delayed my purchase is not a concern. Those who are buying, pl stock consumables like line, spool etc. My previous model, I could not get spare parts as model is withdrawn. Users, pl use gum boot, gogles and cap and enjoy safe working.

Machine is good. 900W power (is more than the power of a normal mixer grinder which is around 850W) is enough for grass upto 1.5 to 2 ft height. Only problem is with the spares. Just one packet containing just about ten odd 35mm long nylon wire strips with the locking mechanism at it's middle is provided as spare with the machine. This one enables two wire strands at the head. And if you are cutting relatively stronger grass, this perishes in no time. There are no spares available online. Then you will have to solely depend of the other single spool which reduces the cutting efficiency as it enables only a single wire cutting head. But this can be replenishmened with any 2mm nylon wire. Happy with the product, problem is the lack of availability of spares.

This is a excellent product with a very powerful Motor, I used it to cut thick grass almost 6 to 8 inch in height along with weeds ( unwanted plants that have thick steam). The machine's weight is balanced so one does not need to bend forward or backward. I used this for almost 2-3 hrs with breaks and it works fine. After use my back did pain a bit so I used a duppata to tie it around by shoulder and the machine like a sling.

Hopeless Black & Decker machine.. did not work for more than 15 minutes. I purchased it in July 2024 and with 1 month, it broke down and took it to Co service centre at Bangalore and the same was repaired. Everytime I use this machine it stops working in 15 minutes and now this is the 3rd time i have taken for repair. Now the service centre person says it will cost more than a new machine to repair this 6 months old machine!!!!!! Very poor quality Product. B&D should not be selling these poor quality machines. I bought this Black & Decker machine thinking that the brand name will have some basic quality but disappointed.

Goodachine so far, working well,, the wire supplied with the unit is very delicate and breaks up veg fast. No blade attachment facility for hard stems to cut. The plug was provided can use only at GULF country.

Best Grass Trimmer in it class. one should blindly buy without hesitation. After a month study by using other trimmers which I returned back I found this trimmer more reliable and sturdy even with grass as tall as 1 foot height and tough 3 to 4 mm thick stem. I only advise B&D to increase the string diameter to 2.5 to 2.75 mm diameter and if possible provide metal part no 18, 19 and 20. Also the instruction manual must specify regular maintenance or oiling required to keep machine fit.

Nice product, not for professionals but works very good for occasional cutting

Good but procuring the spare plastic thred is problem. Not available in local market. Not in online shop also
