Very tiny birdhouse.

I like the construction quality of the birdhouse, but I made a couple of changes. First, I moved the included pin that "locks" the swinging door from the door to the base so it actually holds the door closed (if the screws ever came loose, the original design doesn't actually keep the door closed). Second, I added a small D-ring hanger, using a #10 3/4" pan head screw to serve the second function of the included pin (to provide a "handle" to open the door). I included a picture of these two modifications. A #10 screw eye or hook would also suffice in this role. Third, I used a drill/dremel/hand file to make a "ladder" of sorts for the fledglings (included a picture). Fourth, I cut a strip of felt with adhesive to seal the crack under the side that opens (I only did this because in my specific scenario I will be placing the birdhouse such that the wind will hit that side when it blows). I might add a perch if it proves necessary; the poly-wood is definitely easy enough to work with. I wouldn't mind if the entry hole were a little higher up the front of the house and if the included cable were a bit shorter, but these are nitpicking. Also, be aware that the door might be on either side; on the one I received it was on the right side, not the left, as is shown in the item description. I will be mounting on a pole, mostly because of noted wind (it can get quite gusty); the birdhouse has a nice weight to it (2.4lbs w/ my additions). This birdhouse is quite sturdy and I expect that it will last a very long time. I hope the birds approve.

Had little birds nest on my back porch. What a mess they made and in the end, the baby bird ended up falling out of the nest and did not survive so I bought them a bird house so hopefully next year they can nest safely and their babies will survive. I am going to put a squirrel baffle over the bird house to add extra protection for the little birds. The birdhouse is very well constructed and will last for many years to come. It is easy to clean out when the birds are finished nesting. The small hole with no perch keeps other critters out of the house. I am very pleased with the look and quality of this birdhouse. UPDATE: Had a small Wren bird family move into the house this spring. They had one tiny baby. I was able to watch him on his first day when he popped his head out to see the world. I turned around and he took his first flight and flew away forever. Now the nest is empty so I just opened the little side door and cleaned out the bird house. I am very happy with this house and want to get more for next spring.

GREAT little bird house! Very sturdy and within a few days of hanging it we had Chickadees flying in and out of it. This will last a very long time. The little door is hard to open and I was hoping it was bigger for easier clean out, but it certainly will do. Someone with hand problems will have a hard time opening the little door (like my mother with arthritis). We loved that it's made from 10 recycled milk jugs! Suggestions to the manufacturer is to make that door easier to open, and also to make the hanging cord adjustable. We had to modify the cord because it was way too long for the place we were hanging it. But glad we got it and would purchase again.

I needed to replace a birdhouse that had deteriorated over the years and found this one on Amazon. I thought it was a bit expensive, but I decided to give it a try. I liked that it was made from recycled plastic and figured that it should hold up very well to the extremes of the weather. When it arrived I was very impressed with how well made it was, and that it has easy access for cleaning. I hung it in the yard in a cedar tree and within two days a pair of Chickadees were busy checking it out. They have now moved in, and I couldn't be more pleased. They seem to love it too!

I received this birdhouse and it seems to be quite well constructed. There are ventilation slits on either side under the green roof tip. I have to admit I was concerned about the fact that it is plastic and whether it might get too hot in the summer because of the plastic construction and potential lack of ventilation. I will be anxious to see how this works out when nesting season begins. Hopefully my worries will be unfounded. If not I hope I will be able to drill additional vents in the plastic.

This house is perfect. I am glad I bought 2. The pieces are fitted together perfectly and they are all tight connections. I am so sick of shoddy workmanship and this little house was SOOOOooo refreshing. The color is nice and subtle. The hanger seems strong. The inspection door opened with a little effort but it was no problem. All this and it is made in the USA. I think the recycled plastic will out last wood. It is in the shade since I hung it in a tree so it will have some protection from the sun. My little wren had both of them full of sticks in no time. The package was here really fast and the packaging was great.

This is a perfect little house for wrens and is made in the USA. We had three babies fledge out of this house, but the wasps moved in shortly after. I eliminated the wasps, cleaned the house (a lot of baby bird waste in the old nest), and the wrens are back. To be honest, though, wrens will nest almost anywhere. We had a nest in my husband's welding glove, another next to the firewall in our garden tractor and one even on the ground, which I luckily saw before I mowed over it!

Very impressed! This is a solid birdhouse that I think will last for years and years. It's well ventilated, has a nice snug door that opens for cleaning, and the opening is sized correctly for wrens and chickadees, etc. It's made in North America with recycled milk jugs - how awesome is that?! Another nice detail were the screws in green and brown that match the colours of the birdhouse. Totally not necessary but a nice touch. Looks like a cozy little spot for a mama to nest. I was quite surprised at the low price so I wasn't expecting it to be as high quality as it is. Considering ordering another one for a different part of the yard. It's definitely a good buy!
