Is the shoe compartment "solid"? If i put heavy things in the space above it are my shoes going to get crushed?

The shoe compartment is not hard-sided. If you have things in the bag already, you will need to push them up a bit to get your shoes in.

Is this red? The red bag in the picture looks more pink.

I ordered the pink one and the color was exactly what it looked like in the picture. I would assume the “red” one will be hot pink.

is this TSA compliant?

I am not sure. I am planning to take it on a plane on Saturday. It is similar in size to the average back pack.
