Perfect taste for the authentic Matcha experience
Matcha lover here after visiting Japan. Got this product after reading all the glowing reviews. Delivery took a while as its being sent from the US (I think) but tea tastes great and dissolves easily.

This matcha is my new favorite! The flavor is very mild, with a grassy flavor profile! On its own it has a fresh, light grassy flavor with slight bitterness. Definitely the most pleasant and least bitter matcha I’ve tried! When made into a latte there is no bitterness at all! Super creamy and froths very well! My photo doesn’t do the color justice, it’s a vivid bright green in person! LOVEEE 💓

I purchased both the Jade Leaf and Kenko Matcha Green Tea Powder. Both are ceremonial grade matcha and about as pure as you will get. Both are sourced from small family farms in Japan and are tested repeatedly for radiation. Jade Leaf is slightly less expensive at $23.95 for 30G. Kenko is slightly more expensive at $27.99 for 30G. Kenko has a slightly sweeter flavor and the tea powder is a brighter green. Jade Leaf is not as sweet and a tad darker in color. I like them both equally and alternate between teas. I have become an avid Matcha tea drinker after being a long term espresso coffee drinker. The clean refreshing “buzz” keeps me alert for hours without the jitters. Also L-Theanine an amino acid found primarily in teas promotes relaxation, reduces stress, while at the same time boosts concentration and alertness. I can code for hours on this tea. Traditional ceremonial teas are packed in light tin containers that seal air tight. Keep them in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and cold. Jade Leaf arrived with a sealed bag of powder tea inside the tin. You simply cut the bag open then pour tea inside the tin. I think they took extra precaution for freshness by double packing. Kenko arrived with the tea loose inside the tin. It was not double packed. It didn’t affect the taste or freshness at all. Jade Leaf sent me follow up emails asking if everything arrived ok and if I was enjoying the tea. They also sent me coupons for future purchases. Nice touch. I like it when suppliers take the time to do this. Kenko sent me an email asking if all was good but they did not offer any future purchase coupons. All in all I like them both. If I had to buy just one next time I might go with Kenko because I prefer the slightly sweeter taste. I would recommend buying both as I did and do your own taste test comparison. These are two very best Matcha teas on the market and I wouldn’t bother with any other brands. Both of these teas are created in the highest strictest manner with emphasis on quality and taste. They also buy from small family farms which I like. I was not paid for this endorsement not did I receive any incentives from suppliers for writing this review.

First time ordering, looking for alternatives to my coffee addiction and I'd say I found it. One cup in the morning before leaving for work and no cravings for coffee all day. Made it at home so I didn't get teased at work for having a Japanese tea ceremony at my desk. Must admit that mixing a 1/4+ teaspoon in just under 3.0 fluid ounces doesn't seem like much but it was more than enough. Took a little practice (with the help of my wife's candy thermometer) to figure out when my tea water hit 175 degrees, but now I know how long to heat the water. Just for the heck of it, I measured the temperature of water coming out of my Keurig and it was just under 155 degrees so clearly I needed a bit more heat for my tea water.I discovered it's important to either use a really, really wide (diameter) coffee cup, or a bowl made expressly for Matcha tea preparation, if you want to wisk so it becomes frothy. Great taste, beautiful green color. I ordered the ceremonial grade which is so finely ground that the slightest breeze can disperse your tea powder into the air, be careful. Another learning for me is that it's a good idea to heat the cup or bowl (under running hot water for example) so that's warm/hot and that way the tea doesn't cool off as quickly once mixed. They are serious when they say not to use boiling water, did it just once and it definitely was not optimal, a bit strong for my taste, although some will argue that they prefer espresso over regular coffee. As a vendor, definitely a great little company, owner emailed me the next day wanting feedback on my experience. Only thing I'd suggest to the owner is to offer one additional sized tin at a slight price reduction, I wouldn't have to place an order as often and maybe save a buck or two. Final suggestion is to order the whisk, measuring spoons and perhaps a Matcha tea bowl, although be careful as far as those coming from China, always concerned about lead, perhaps Cate and Barrel or another vendor so you know where the bow comes from and that it's safe. Overall, 5 stars. Jim H. USA

Definitely one of the better matcha options on Amazon, the flavor is pretty good, not great, but it’s smooth, gets me feeling caffeinated, and for the price I think it’s a great starter matcha !

O.K., first off, a little background … I’m just north of 50 and have been working out hard for over 30 years. I’ve spent the last 5 years or so taking over a dozen or so different supplements and vitamins every day (fish oil, probiotics, turmeric, milk thistle, trans-resveretrol, just to name a few). I also eat healthfully, work on maintaining a positive attitude and strive to always get a good night’s sleep. I indicate all of this because I take nutrition and health seriously. I read some interesting articles a month or so ago about the benefits of Matcha Green Tea powder. After comparing prices, I opted to purchase this specific product because of its high-grade of quality and stellar reviews and after taking it for 3 weeks or so, this is my review. This is hands down THE MOST EFFECTIVE HEALTH PRODUCT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. Sustained mental clarity for 3-5 hours without any jitters? Check. Increase in strength and stamina? Check. Immediate restorative breathing to my sinuses? Check. (Every single time I drink it, and within minutes of drinking it.) An effective fat burner? Check. Working out hard, eating right and drinking several cups of Matcha Green Tea everyday, (particularly during my workouts) has helped me to GAIN 6 lbs of muscle, while torching visceral fat around my belly in the process. I’m 5” 8” and am now 168 lbs and this product has helped me to maintain my 30 inch waistline. And none of this touches upon the ridiculously strong anti-oxidant properties of this product, which research strongly suggests helps to keep your brain healthy, while fighting off alzheimer’s, parkinson’s, cancer AND good old fashioned aging. Yes, ceremonial Matcha Green Tea is in essence the closest I’ve come to finding the fountain of youth. My only regret? That I haven’t been drinking Matcha Green Tea for decades. Don’t settle for inferior, cheapers products (particularly any Matcha Green Tea product from China, which does not regulate what they put in their products, so you can end up with basically anything). Stick with this ceremonial grade, Matcha Green Tea from Japan, which is the most potent and manufactured with the highest grade of quality. I give this product my highest possible recommendation.
