this item is a bit cheesy would not buy again

Piece of crap! The plastic would not even hold the treys inside. It just fell over spilling everything. I was so hopeful. Very disappointed. Lost 12 seeds that i worked so hard to germinate! All because of cheap plastic. I knew i should have gone for a better product but I figured give it a try. Never again!

Perfect for my little project!

This arrived very quickly, and was packaged great with no damage to it. This is a 12 cell tray with a plastic bottom and a clear lid tent in which you can vent. When the seedlings do start and are big enough for transplanting, you can cut the 12 cell tray apart and plant it intact into the ground as the roots will grow through it. The plastic tray can be used again, but I don’t know how many more uses you would get out of it. It does look like it will last for one year of spring time seeds, but I do not know if it will last the next year. It is nice. It is nice that the lid is able to be vented without removing. It is waterproof because it is plastic. It is very lightweight and will not take up much room in your windowsill. I personally think this will be a great tray to start seeds with my grandkids. But you must remember that you do need your own dirt, fertilizer and seeds.

Is really flimsy so have handle carely but does the job of growing plants

We're taking gardening seriously this coming year, which is not something we've done recently. That means we need to be doing things like getting plants started inside, which is why I ordered this kit.One of the things I've really liked about all the Back to the Roots products I've owned previously is that they are educational. There is plenty of information for me to learn about what the kit involves, and there is material I can use with my kids as well. This product does contain some of the "why" but there is not much. The directions/learning are all on the back of the box, and all of the instructions assume you also have the Back to the Roots Seeds & Seed Starting Mix. I do not have that kit, so I am using soil and seeds I already have.The kit is quite basic, but it does what it is supposed to. It comes with the plantable tray inside the green germination tray, which sits inside the greenhouse lid, so it does not take up a lot of space. I do think that if you are careful with the greenhouse part, this could be reused a few times.I like this for getting some of the fussier plants started, but in general I don't love this kit.

Peppers are the one seed that I cannot direct seed, they need constant heat to germinate. This little green house make the perfect pepper starting set up. Fill the included cardboard plant tray with good soil, plant seeds, the plastic bottom tray allows for optimal bottom watering and the clear dome helps hold in heat and humidity. I am able to then sit the entire container in a seed warming pad for extra heat. Not the thickest materials but definitely gets the job done
