Gobe 55mm UV Lens Filter (3Peak)

This product is awesome! Can’t wait to really use it this weekend!

After spending a lot of time shopping for lens filters lately I came across these filters from Gobe. There were no reviews yet, they are a new product, so are they worth it? After doing a little digging around I bought 4 of them. I just submitted a review for the "Gobe CPL 67mm SCHOTT 16-Layer Multi-Coated Polarized Filter" and I don't want to repeat the same thing word for word. I was tempted to just copy and paste it though, because it does apply to this uv filter as well. The materials that go into these are very good, the aluminum/magnesium alloy metal frames and the German glass are quality. I went to the Gobe (mygobe.com) web page and did some reading, they have a business model that allows them to sell products made with premium materials for less. (click on ABOUT US at the top) These are certainly not the cheapest ones you can get, but you are not paying for a big brand name and a bunch of marketing here. So far I have purchased the CPL and UV filters in 58mm and 67mm sizes. I plan on getting some ND filters from Gobe in the future. I've been using them for a couple of weeks, taken a couple hundred pictures, and I am very happy with them so far.

I bought this filter to use with my Tamron 18-400mm Lens for my Nikon D5600 DSLR camera and I am extremely satisfied with it. No distortion, blurring, or vignetting when using the max zoom, and I get a crystal clear image!I love the aluminum fitted case it comes in, and the cleaning cloth is a good cloth that comes with it. Plus for every filter you buy 5 trees are planted. I am definitely getting more lenses from Gobe.

I purchase these for protection as much as light filters or to manage light in my photography. I had for years spent upwards of $100 for protective filters that offered the best transmission of light without effecting the image quality. I would put this 16 layer SCHOTT glass filter up against filters twice the price and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.The coatings are great I have two kids that have interest in photography and while they are learning the occasional finger finds the objective lens or filter in this case, and their smudges wipe right off with a microfiber cloth I have yet to need anything other than a blower and cloth for touch-ups.I will add or ammend any updates if I see any changes but this is my 2nd GOBE filter and after a year the other is still like new despite my regular outdoor use in the desert and I expect this one to be as good.

My Gobe filter arrived as ordered. It has great, highly protective packaging - meaning that the filter comes in a flat metal screw top can, with a custom fitted foam insert, sized exactly to the filter. The glass is spotless and doesn't have any visible flaws. I looked at the filter through a large magnifying glass (my OCD gift) and it was uniformly clear and clean. This is not my first Gobe filter, and they have all been perfect. I even replaced some of my older filters, mostly Vivitars, with Gobe. These are good filters. Thanks, Craig

The 16-Layer SCHOTT UV Filters are my go-to "protective" lens filter. I have these on all of my lenses as an extra insurance policy to protect them from accidental scratches, dust, moisture, etc. I see the UV Filters as a must-have for any photographer who is even the least bit active.As for me, I am constantly hiking with my cameras and shooting outdoor related scenes. The added protection given by these clear UV filters is a very small price to pay for protecting my otherwise very expensive lenses. The Gobe SCHOTT filters are excellent quality as well and a real steal for the price you pay. I would certainly recommend them.(the attached image is one of my BIG 72mm SCHOTT UV filters)

Used on Sigma 35mm 1.4 art for Canon.I have quite a few Gobe filters and this one works as expected. Does not have a noticeable effect on picture quality or sharpness. Only noticeable thing caused by this filter is slight ghosting at night when taking pictures of lights. The ghosting is minimal and less pronounced than other filters I've used for this lens. Good filter for the price!

Das ist mein zweiter Gobe 3Peak UV-Filter und ich bin mit beiden absolut zufrieden!Diesmal in 82mm. (für Sigma 24-70mm)Kann also nur gutes berichten.Qualität super, sehr dünn, trägt vom Durchmesser und der Baulänge so gut wie nicht auf! Schutzdeckel des Objektivs sitzt auch wunderbar im Filter.In einer Rezension wurde geschrieben, die Gewindequalität sei schlecht und der Filter springt nach dem Aufschrauben wieder ab 😆 Definitiv nicht, das läuft wunderbar. Bei großen Durchmessern bitte vorsichtig aufschrauben!…Feingewinde können sich leicht „verkannten“, lassen sich aber trotzdem eindrehen, und dann denkt man es liegt am Gewinde!!5 Sterne, gerne wieder! 👍🏻

Thin filter light weight and glass looks crystal clear. If you haven't noticed filter costs have gone stupid high in the last years. Have paid up $400 for a large filter recently. Thought I would rconomize but found Gobe to be fairly high quality. Only gripe is the threads are a little rough making it harder to screw the filter on or off the lens. BUT still a great product with Schott glass. Pictures so far are impossible to tell whether the filter is on or off in my tests.
