Deco Art DecoArt ADS-01 Americana Decor Stencil, Brocade Motif, 1, Grey

This is a lovely stencil, sturdy, mylar product, cleans well, clean it carefully due to the small delicate design areas. Get a new plastic dish pan or larger size to lay it in to remove your paint product and you will be fine. This company Deco Art makes wonderful quality always. This was also a lovely size for making wall art, pillows, furniture fronts or tops. I personally make my own chalk paint with product off of Amazon and love how this compliments my painted items.Note: mylar is used for making stencils, it will vary in mil, or thickness. I am new to stenciling and love it, so thought I would add this here if anyone needs it. Look up "mylar" for more information on how to clean, it's uses.

As you can tell I'm in the middle of refreshing my kitchen with new paint on cabinets and walls (so pardon the mess) and this wall just needed an extra something. This stencil just made my kitchen so cute! I spaced out the stencil so the lone wall wouldn't look so busy. I sponged the paint on to give it an antiquy look and then added some dabs of beige paint to give it some definition. It was easy to use. I used painter's tape to hold it in place, dabbed with a sponge, then laid it on a paper or plastic and then wiped off the back to make sure there was no paint transferred to next spot. So happy with this design.

I received my stencil in a very timely fashion and it is more beautiful than I thought it would be. I haven't used it yet but it is nice, slick surface on the face which will help with removing excess paint when I use it. I am painting a large rug and I can't wait to use this stencil for my accents. Being on a budget forces me to keep my spending to a certain level but for the price that I paid, it is very nice.

We love the stencil image! The thin detail parts start to become flimsy/break after many uses, but they held up well initially (we made 71 images using one stencil! Time consuming but then we only had to buy one).Our first one arrived damaged because some ninny stuffed it bent into a box with heavier objects. Amazon shipped us another one to replace and that one was just fine.

I had never tried stenciling before, but I wanted to try a raised design on my wall. Being paranoid about trying something three dimensional on my wall, I tried it out on a piece of canvas that I had first. I really liked how my little test turned out.I was a bit excited initially, and I put the drywall compound on too thick (you could use plaster instead of joint compound). The excess drywall compound pulled up part of the design when I removed the stencil (see picture where the design is white before painting). This was less obvious when it was painted, but it did suck up a bit of paint. The next one I scraped it thinner, and the design was much clearer (picture on the far right). I also taped off some of the flourishes on the side and stenciled just the middle without any plaster. You could easily do a mix of full and partial stencils for an interesting design variation. The smaller ones that were done with just paint were incredibly easy, but make sure your brush is fairly dry because if it is too wet, the design is muddied by a small amount of paint sneaking under the stencil.I really liked the stencil, and after testing it, I feel confident it will look lovely on the wall. I used a variety of color blends on the canvas just because I didn't know what I wanted, but using a single color would yield a quick and easy design. I think this would also work nicely for stenciling furniture.Update: Did the wall. The stencil held up to 3D joint compound over the wall (had to rinse after every 2-3 stencils). Then I painted the whole wall and let it dry and put the stencil over the previously stenciled areas to paint the gold highlights without getting the gold on the newly painted wall. Be sure to clean the stencil after every few stenciling to keep your lines clean. I'm really glad I used this for my stairwell wall!

I bought two stencils for a mirror project. I did use too much paint but overall satisfied with this stencil. It was far better quality than my other one. It kind of static cleans to the surface marking it easier to place. The plastic is think enough to hold sale (other one was flimsy and and moved easily). I am not an artist by any means as you can tell close up but happy with over all project.

This stencil is as stencils should be. Plastic is resistant and durable, yet flexible enough to paint any surface without bleeding + it’s easy to wash (tip: lay stencil flat on the bottom of your sink and spray with warm water).I didn’t cover entire walls like some other customers, but it served my purpose well, and it still looks brand new, ready for more projects!

I used this stencil to create the image with plaster instead of paint. The stencil is very well made and sturdy. I've used it multiple times with plaster and it's help up perfectly and the design is beautiful! VERY satisfied with this purchase!

Really enjoyed using this stencil. It's was nice and big and good quality. Cleanly laser cut. I just warn you not to leave it in the sun. I had it in the back seat of my car for about 40 minutes and the whole thing curled up at all the edges, making it completely useless. So just be sure to keep it out of the sun, don't leave it on the table by a window that gets direct sunlight or near a heater. I did contact their customer service and they promptly issued me a refund. I will buy more stencils from them in the future.
