Comparing 3 different brands
I tried all 3 synthetic material Adirondack style chairs I saw on Amazon - the Highwood, the Polywood, and the Trex. They were all good to very good, and similarly priced from. Specific pros & cons: Highwood has 3 different back recline settings, and the most comfortable armrests. It was slightly less expensive than the others, but required more work to assemble, taking 25 minutes vs. the others taking 5 minutes tops. If you're good at assembly, you'll have no problem with the Highwood; if you're not a DIY person, you'd be happier with the other two brands. Polywood model - widest variety of colors and very easy to assemble. Probably the best overall, though the back doesn't recline like the Highwood. Trex brand: Very good overall, but probably 3rd out of the 3 to me - Trex was easy to put together like the Polywood, but didn't have the same color variety. Also, the Trex I got had one screw poking through the slats that would poke a person sitting in the chair. Easy enough to fix (back the screw out a little) but for the price would have appreciated better quality control.

LOVE LOVE These Adirondack Chairs from Polywood
There's nothing like a nice comfy Adirondack Chair in your yard, especially with the type of view we're more than fortunate enough to have. We went on a mission to find quality chairs, which wouldn't be difficult to put together, were well made, and would stand up to the hot, humid sun in Florida. Reading review after review, some chairs appeared nice enough, until you read how difficult and time consuming they were to put together. The reviews for these chairs from Polywood, were uniformly excellent. Since we're not exactly handy, easy to put together was important. So we took the plunge and ordered two. They came today and to say we're VERY pleased is an understatement. They are for the most part, already put together. All you have to do is put them in the right position, install two Polywood pieces and and a bolt on each arm, tighten and enjoy. It took two of us no more than 5 minutes per chair. It simply can't get any simpler. These chairs are foldable, but you'd have to do in reverse what you did to put them together, so not likely something we'd do very often anyway. We love the vibrant color and Polywood says the chairs are weatherproof, won't splinter, crack, chip, peel, or rot when exposed to the elements. They may not be the least expensive Adirondack chairs you can buy and they're certainly not the most expensive either. For us, they were the quality we wanted, at a reasonable price, incredibly easy to put together and should last the test of time. It doesn't get better than this, no it doesn't!

Well built and sturdy.
The chair is very well built. I was able to put it together but using the wrench was a little difficult due to not being able to visualize the area well. Overall I love the chair. The note saying it is recommended to remove the 2 pins before folding has me somewhat concerned as to how easily this will be done. The chair is comfortable, but cushions would add even more comfort!

Great chairs!
We have the chaise lounges and I wanted some matching chairs for pool area. They are comfortable and the plywood doesnât fade. Waiting for pollen season to be over before I put them out. Assembly was easy and done in just a few minutes.

Classic Adirondack - Only folds before assembly
I ordered 6 of these chairs in black for my front porch and chose this particular chair because of the recycled material and it stated it folded, so I am disappointed that it doesn't easily fold (to fold you would have to remove 2 plastic pins and 2 bolts on each side, then reassemble which I don't think anyone would do to take this chair somewhere for an afternoon). I guess the folding feature would be used if you were to move, but that would be about it. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble each chair from their boxes, with a rubber mallet and wrench of my tools and the little allen wrench provided. There is some flexibility in the chairs, but I believe it is just that type of material, it is the same type as my porch floor and it also was before building the porch, but has been extremely durable. They are also a bit on the small side, as we have bigger people in my family, but overall they are pretty nice, just wish they were a couple inches taller and maybe an inch wider, which some other brands are. My seven year old daughter sat in one, and it fit her comfortably, I am 5ft 9 and thought the seat and backrest could have been longer. I like that this model does not show the screws as much as some other brands of chairs, these are painted black, and often inserted from the back so you don't see at all. They are also pretty heavy, which in my mind is a good thing, as we are on a hill and with them being so low to the ground, hopefully they won't blow off. For the price, I would recommend. They look really really nice, looking forward to using them over the years.

Good Value for Money
These are nice. Arrived well packed with all parts, good instructions, and 90% assembled. Tolerances are good and material is high quality. Comfortable, good color, functional design. This is a somewhat smaller, lighter and also semi-portable verison of chairs sometimes used for busy recreation areas. It's a good medium-duty chair you can leave in place or fold if you need to. I wouldn't buy planning to fold and unfold one or more all the time or carry around in the car--best for leaving set up at camp, pool, porch: safe bet a set of these will last a long time and require almost zero maintenance. The price is in the ballpark. Easy enough for most sensible adults to avoid, but note that there is the potential for a pinch or smashed finger during assembly.
