I've purchased several of these in varying sizes - they're great, but not consistently great. One of the them came with a 1/2" chip on the lid (which impacts the "air-tightness" of this product). Considering the premium on these at $50/each, I expect near-perfection. I understand the complexities of shipping glass so while I'm not super upset, I'm disappointed. Pros: - Extremely high quality. Feels great to hold. - Easy to wash - Minimalist; very little to go wrong with this product (assuming you don't drop it) Cons: - A little expensive - QC issues

I could not understand how a glass ja could be air tight and smell proof with a screw on lid. There's no gasket...right? Wrong. On the underside of the lid is a high density foam material that acts as the gasket. It appears to be quite effective. Haven't challenged TSA (bought the 3.4 fluid oz. by mistake...too large), but with a small jar i am confident you would pass the sniff test. Very well made. I have no that the product works as advertised. My only question was would a silicone gasket have been more robust? UltraviolLeaf is the real deal.
