No more high Idle
I have a 2001 ford ranger with 3.0 engine. Recently it started high idling like crazy. I checked the IAC, inspected for vacuum leaks on hoses, checked resistance on throttle position sensor and all were good. When checking the resistance of the coolant temp sensor, the resistance did not change regardless if it was placed in cold, warm, or hot water. I ordered the replacement and installed it. Idling normalized and now my ranger is running smooth again. Something to be aware of is some vehicles like my ford ranger use two different temp sensors. One sensor is used to send signal to ecm which in turn operates the temperature gauge on the instrument cluster which can be identified by a single wire on the wiring connector that connects to sensor. If you buy this sensor for that particular reason, the sensor will not work and you will get bad readings coming from the temperature gauge. This sensor is for the ecm to read the temperature of your coolant to regulate the air/fuel mixture and allow for engine to idle normally. Typically this sensor has two wires at the connector harness. I hope this review helps some of you out there. I have read some negative reviews on this particular sensor claiming sensor did not work. High possibility the negative reviews come from people ordering wrong part for their specific needs. I am giving a 5 star review because the sensor worked as it should and fixed my issue. I will update this review if sensor fails unexpectedly.

Does not fit 2003 f150 v6 4.2l engine
Doesn't fit my 2003 f150 v6 4.2L, despite confirmation from Amazon garage. I am still giving 4 stars because it isn't their fault. Ford decided to mess around with this for some model years. For this particular engine you need a "cylinder heat temperature sensor". I spent hours looking for this ect on my engine and it does not exist. This year does not have an ect, it is called a cht and is located on the driver's side back of the engine block above the oil filter. Amazon garage is very helpful, but double check on your own. Don't blame them either, dozens of videos will lead you the wrong way because the engine variations for the 97-2003 series f150s.

Didn’t work out of the box.
2000 e150 4.2l V6. Didn’t work out of the box. Needle only moves high enough to cover the letter C on the temp gage. I shouldn’t have changed it. The original ford temp sensor worked fine. I figured since I had the plenum off, I’d go ahead and change the temp sensor. I was a mook. You’ll be a mook too, if you cheap out and buy this junk. Stick with FOMOCO or OEM mook.
