For those on the fence…
Buy it! I saw a hair steamer on YouTube and honestly haven’t heard of such a thing until that point. I knew my natural hair needed a boost in the moisture department and products alone weren’t the answer. I kept coming back to the reviews and changing my mind whenever I saw a bad one. I finally decided to take the leap and try it and I’m so glad I did! One of the reviews mentioned that it did not work right out of the box. It will certainly appear that way if you don’t give it time to heat up and begin producing the steam. It takes about 4-5 min. Once it starts this little thing can go! It produces steam consistently until the water level drops below the hose (about 10-15 min, maybe less, but I didn’t count). It does get a little hot under there, but it’s not bad. Keep a towel with you to cover your ears if you get uncomfortable and to manage the dripping. There are a couple things I don’t like, but I can live with. One, the hood does not fold in, which makes it difficult to store the steamer. Two, the plastic is a bit low on the quality scale. It’s a more flexible plastic than hard, durable plastic. Again, not deal breakers, but I did want to mention that. My hair felt so soft and moisturized post treatment! I washed my hair first, applied leave in conditioner, and steamed. You do what works for you, but that’s what I did in case someone is wondering if you should wash first. I have no regrets and highly recommend it.

It’s alright
Pros: Easy to put together, moisturizing Cons: Not easy to disassemble and store Makes a loud noise when low on water When the water gets to the “low” mark it ceases to work, so I don’t see the point in having a 300mL reservoir when it gets to 100 and stops steaming, water drips from the head cover while using, so a towel is needed to stop from being burned

Great Machine
Great machine that works well. I purchased it to replace a larger hair steamer I have that is packed away. This one packs a good punch and does the job. My only issue is that I wish the dome was adjustable. Sometimes its hard to get in the right position and height when you can't adjust it. I now have the right combo of table and books to stack in order to position it properly. I've also used this as a face steamer. I was pleasantly surprised and will continue to use it to enhance my at home facials.

DO NOT BUY
I ordered this on December 22, 2025, used it once on January 14, 2025, and by Febraury 2, 2026, it no longer worked. I would not recommend this item to anyone. A waste of money.

I really like what steam does for my 4c natural hair
I really like what steam does for my 4c natural hair. After the first use my hair noticeably shed less than it did before. As for the Red Pro steamer it is easy to assemble and puts out an abundance of steam. The hood is smaller than I expected and I can’t seem to open the drain plug. I just detach the hood from my he base, flip it over and allow the residual water to drain from the vent holes. Overall I like this steamer. One question I have is it states to use regular tap water but a well known YouTube blogger stated she uses distilled water to avoid build up on the the heating coil; I wonder why the manufacturer doesn’t recommended or state you can use regular tap or distilled water?

Knew the assignment…
Seats hair well… gets pretty hot… it does run out of water pretty quickly. My previous one had a bigger water canister. It’s does give me a solid 10minutes.

Results are there if you can work around it’s drawbacks
When I read the reviews for this product, I almost didn’t want to buy it. I decided to give it a chance and I love it. It is easy to assemble and if you follow the instruction you shouldn’t have any problems. With that being said, it does have a few drawbacks. It is not adjustable but if you find the right chair and table height you can make it work. When I first started steaming the back of my hair wasn’t getting steamed. I realized I needed to sit further into the steamer hood than at salons. I am a 4B/C naturalista. I part my hair into four sections and bobby pin them up towards the crown of my head with my deep conditioner/hair mask on. After letting the steamer warm up and produce steam (about 3-5 minutes), I sit under the hood for 19 minutes (any longer than that and it yells at me that the water is too low). Then I cover my head in a plastic cap wait for the machine to cool down a little (roughly 5 minutes) add more water and repeat. Honestly my hair is nicely steamed after the 19 minute session but I’m just extra. Also, the way to add water is a little awkward. The directions say to add from the top and pull out this stopper but that takes too long and I am impatient. So I get a pouring cup with a spout and just fill the cup to the max line while it is detached from the holding spot but still within the apparatus. I love this product but you will have to figure out a way to work with it. I hope this helps.

Love it
This is the best product I have brought in a long time moisturizes and smooth the skin. They only problem is it doesn’t stay on for 45 minutes more like 25 so that is less than what they claim on the website deception be aware. I love the steamer , but hate the lie told.

Everything works perfectly and as expected! It’s without any doubt a good quality product. The water tank last at least a good 20 minutes. No dripping water !

I have bleached hair and my natural hair is pretty dark for a while my hair completely stop growing but this completely changed that I always recommend to anyone who compliments my hair (just make sure to get out the hood carefully so hot water doesn’t spill on ur back)

This machine dripped steam from around the rim and dripped onto my back, causing the skin to peel off of my back immediately. Months later, this has left a permanent scar on my back.
