How I know the correct size?

They run similar to regular sizes - I would say medium equal to 8-10 but they are a slim cut so size up if you are not slim build.

Hi, i'm a 5'3", 116lbs. im looking for a long rain coat, thigh length. do you think i should go for this model of the belfast? do you think the medium

I think medium would work if you want room for a sweater or sweatshirt under it. I bought a fleece lined Aden raincoat which was running small. I sized up two sizes from what I'd wear in LLBean on the Aden model to an XL based on reviews and my coat had extra room for a sweater or sweatshirt and still draped lovely. I think one size up would be enough. I 'm 5'3" and 128lbs.

Im 5.3" weight 217 lbs what size should i get

Sorry. I wouldn't know. I'm 5'8" and 160 lbs.

Will this fit over a down jacket?

Yes, the HH fits nicely over my Marmot 700 fill down hooded coat and have also worn this over my North Face Thermoball. Overall, great coat!
