The Party's Over

I bought this for my 16-year-old son, who is a huge fan of Tom Morello and Rage Against the Machine, as well as Public Enemy. He loves it. I think it's great. Lovers of hard rock and politicized hip-hop should find it first rate. More conservative folks might want to approach with care. Nevertheless, This is perhaps the most important pop/rock release of the year!

Not a bad album but let's just say it's just good enough for me to want to turn it off and listen to the real RATM, Cypress Hill, or PE instead. I'd give it 3 stars if I didn't have enormous respect for the artists already. It's nice to have them making new music but it makes me long for their angst ridden early days

First time listening to the new supergroup, I love it!

C'mon, what can I say about this that you shouldn't already know??? Chuck D, B-Real, backed by band of Rage Against the Machine. Perfection!!!! And amazing live!!!!!

A six piece rap rock/funk metal reformation! Two new studio tracks, one live cover & two new live tracks! All in all; Five pieces of eight I'd like to hear of getting a six star rating! Thanx!

B Real and Chuck D are a tour de force with the original musicians of the band Rage Against the Machine. They were amazing live and the live cuts on this album are great! If you are a Rage fan or love the rap rock style Rage mastered check this out!

I found myself rewinding to my University Days, 1992, we had a 7” vinyl jukebox with a limited supply of hits in our Halls Of residence bar, and RATM’s Bombtrack, Killing in the name of, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill featured heavily on a daily basis, through a mixture of lack of other material to choose from and our aspirations to **** the system. Happy days.I went to see Cypress Hill in June in Brussels on the 21/06/2016, and was blown away with how well they still performed and how mean they still looked. At the end of the gig they plugged the Prophets so I checked them out, what’s there not to like.Enter The Prophets of Rage. The Prophets consists of Rage Against the Machine’s Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk, adding the tough duo from Public Enemy, Chuck D and DJ Lord, and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill.1 new track, 3 reworked original and one mash-up of 2 of my personal favourites from Beastie Boys and Public Enemy (No Sleep till Brooklyn and fight the power respectively)**Track 1 – Prophets of Rage**The first track "Prophets of Rage" is a remake of the awesome Public Enemy song , it’s been amped up with what can only be described as 3 decades of bottled up RAGE. It’s a lot heavier, and if you like Rock and Hip Hop fusion you’ll absolutely love this. They’ve reworked the track to highlight current struggles which is evident in the verses like“Put your hands up in the crowdRaise your fist up (fist up)While I lift up (lift up)F*****g everything wrong with the system (system)”**Track 2 – The party’s over**The only ‘new’ track, however, I see Track 1 as a welcomed, updated and juiced up version of the original. This is another great tune which I’ve already ben blasting through my cans at work whilst coding away.**Track 3 – Killing in the name of (Live).**Chuck D and B-Real fill the void left by Zack de La Rocha’s absence, with B-Real vocals hitting the similar notes of the missing RATM member.“Some of those that hold office, are the same that burn crosses”A lot more expletives In this version when compared to the original, but again, 30 years of pent up rage, homies funerals and just plain old despair have probably helped fuel this pressure cooker of Rage**Track 4 – Shut em down (Live)**Of the 5 tracks on this EP, this is my least favourite, however it’s still a good track and not one I will skip. It’s just in this one instance, in my opinion the original is better, and whilst ALL of the originals they reworked are brilliant, this one is the only remake that doesn’t add any substance in my opinion."I don't need your slick talk, I don't need your point of viewI'm the ******* thorn in the side that's annoying you"**Track 5 – No Sleep Til Cleveland (Live)**Another banging mash-up. No Sleep till Brooklyn and Fight the Power mashed up in an amazing melting pot of Rock, Hip-Hop, Testosterone and a truly amazing Guitar Solo half way through the track by Tom Morello.To Summarise, whilst it’s only one new track, 3 remakes and a mash-up, for <7GBP I don’t see what all the negatives I’ve read are about. The songs are refreshing and excellent in my opinion, and I hope I get to see them live at some point. I certainly hope they can find more time to write some more material, regardless of whether Trump wins or not!

Pretty cool music. Closest thing we will ever get to a Rage Against the Machine album. Chuck D and B Real sound too much 'hip hop', they're not Zack.

A great stop gap until the re-formation of RATM and a new album?

A short album but one with some great - recognizable - tunes. You really get a sense of the atmosphere and the message that Prophets of Rage are about. A great teaser for their forthcoming album but could have benefited from a few additional tracks.

Fun EP and definitely looking forward to their full debut album of original material.

Una de mis bandas favoritas de los 90s, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, con mi mc favorito de todos los tiempos, Chuck D de Public Enemy, con la muy apropiada aportación vocal de B-real de Cypress Hill y el magnífico Dj actual de Public Enemy, Dj Lord poniendo la guinda.EP de 5 temas, en la cara A los dos temas originales, PROPHETS OF RAGE y THE PARTY'S OVER, que los dos me parecen temazos, y una cara B con 3 temas en directo, de los que destaco especialmente el NO STILL TILL CLEVELAND, una versión del No Sleep Till Brooklyn de los Beastie boys, con la letra de Fight The Power de Public Enemy.Te lo recomiendo encarecidamente si eres fan de RATM o de PE.

Uno de los debuts mas esperados es el de esta mega banda, tres miembros de RATM, mas Chuck D y B Real (Public Enemy y Cypess Hill) EP debut con 5 rolas, dos originales y tres covers incluido killing in the name. Musicalmente suena a RATM y aunque vocalmente se extraña a Zack de la Rocha, los nuevos vocalistas no lo hacen mal; no queda mas que esperar nuevas canciones originales y en marzo próximo la visita a la Cd. de México al Vive Latino 2018

Pretty good. I keep wanting this band to be Rage Against the Machine and without Zach they just aren't. I want to like it but Chuck and B Real miss the mark for me. It's not like I dislike public enemy or cypress hill either. I love both those groups.

Tolle Platte. Die Stars um RATM, Cypress Hill und Public Enemy lassen es krachen. Freue mich auf den Longplayer im September. Übrigens waren die Jungs bei Rock im Park der absolute Hammer.

This is a great CD that features a great lineup.
