I want to use the light fixture (relatively new) from the existing fan. Aren't light kits universal?

If it is a Hunter light kit and the fans are both around the same age I believe it will work. Contact Hunter directly and I'm sure they could confirm. I'm very pleased with this fan for my low ceiling room but a light kit would not work in my application due to height.

Can you put lights on this fan?

Yes you can. We did. Go to Hunter website to get the right ones. They are lovely.

Can anyone post a picture of the reverse side of the blades? I contacted the manufacturer and they were unable to provide one (unbelievable).

The reverse side = the exposed side

I am having trouble attaching a light kit to this fan. The pull chain mechanism is in the way when I try to attach the light kit. Any advice for that?

I had no issue attaching the light kit.. May be that part is defective. Sorry I couldn't be a help.
