Yes, if a light burns our the others will stay lit. The wire is wrapped around the tree truck and placed inside the tree on the top.

Q: Will the 7 foot one stand on its own on my concrete porch or do I need to find a way to screw the base down?

It will stand on its own but any wind may knock it down. You can screw it down or put some flower pots around it at the base

Q: Are the leaves of the 7ft larger or same size compared to the 5ft?

I have both the 7’ and 5’ trees. The “leaves” are the same on both but the branches are longer on the 7’ tree and there are many more branches than on the 5’ tree. How you bend the branches give each tree its fullness. I am very happy with both of them!
