ZenPet Pet Recovery Cone E-Collar for Dogs and Cats - Always Use with Your Pet's Everyday Collar - Comfortable Soft Collar is Adjustable for a Secure and Custom Fit (Medium)

I purchased this E-Collar in size Medium for my 20 lb. Jack Russell for post surgery, it fit perfectly. (This would also probably fit pets a little larger as well) I specifically like this E-Collar because of it's structure yet flexibility, ease of on and off because of the velcro adjustable closure and also because it can be secured onto your pet with a regular buckle collar. The clear windows that are on the sides also seemed to help with being able to have some peripheral vision, although the E-Collar would get turned around when my dog was up and moving around because of the weight of the velcro side. Also, It has a soft binding edge that won't cut your leg if your little furry kid runs into you either! (unlike the traditional plastic E-Collar you get from your vet). Honestly, my dog seemed to tolerate this E-Collar much better than the traditional plastic one. He was able to be comfortable when laying down or moving around because of it's flexibility and because it has a soft binding edge around the neck area. Although a little awkward he could eat and drink with this E-Collar on but I chose to take it off of him at meal times to give him a little break. My little guy had to wear this pretty much 24/7 for about 16 days and it held up wonderfully. It did get a little nasty from drool, dog hair etc. but it was easy to clean off with a damp cloth. This E-collar was definitely worth the price and much cheaper than the big box pet store prices! * I've attached a photo of my lil guy post surgery so you can see how it fit him.

We LOVE this product and ordered an extra ZenPet ProCone collar for our second dog just in case she needs surgery some day too. We tell our family, friends, strangers, and our Veterinarian (and the Emergency Vet Hospital), about this MUCH more comfortable, high quality, recovery cone for dogs. We tried all of the other common dog cones and our older dog hated them and froze in fear when we put them on her - she even frantically rubbed herself against wood furniture at night trying to get a donut style cone off of her. The 'lamp shade' cones that many Veterinarian's and Animal Emergency Hospitals use were the worst experience for our dog. We happened to find a ZenCone at a nearby Petco and our dog settled right down, she would walk and sleep comfortably in it and still see where she was through some of the clear plastic sections to the side of her. This soft cone is easy to put on using an already purchased regular soft fabric dog collar and allows your dog to sleep comfortably as the cone folds gently and the fabric is comfortable to lay on. It's also easy to keep clean and prevents dogs from licking wounds or surgical stitches while healing. This cone is worth every penny you'll pay. I wish I could give it 10 stars instead of the highest of 5 stars here.

I've had some ups and downs with this product. My 12 month old 75 pound Lab went in for his neuter surgery three days ago. I had researched "cone of shame" alternatives and I thought this one sounded great. I liked that it was softer than the traditional cones but still had the windows of plastic for him to see through for his peripheral vision. I was pleased with the apparent quality when it arrived and it was pretty easy to attach to his collar and put on him. (I will caution dog owners that have really big dogs that the size XL was just about right for my 75 pound Labrador.). The ZenPet PetCone worked fantastically for the first 36 hours, but I did wake the second morning to the sound of my dog licking himself. I jumped out of bed and looked in his crate and at first I thought he'd managed to get out of the collar and cone because I could see his entire head (cone-free). What had actually happened was that he had been able to fold the cone in half, like what you would do with a turtleneck shirt, except it was folded to the inside. I was so sure I would never be able to use this "cone" again that I initially posted a 2-star review as I sat with him until the sun came up. I thought I would have to go buy one of the traditional Elizabethean plastic cones to use instead. I actually did buy one yesterday morning, but it's still lying flat and unused with the receipt next to it in the hopes that I can return it in a few days. The reason I think the cone was able to fold was because it was too loose. The ZenCone has three Velcro straps and you can overlap one, two, or three of them depending on your dog's neck size. I only overlapped two straps the first time around, but after the "Incident," I overlapped all three. I was still able to get two fingers between his neck and the collar/cone, and this is snugger than I usually have his collar alone. Nevertheless, he still appears comfortable and he hasn't been able to fold the cone. It is a little floppy and the top hangs down on his head, but since it confirms to his body more, I'll take it over the rigid plastic types. I'd highly recommend to ZenPet that they add some hard plastic "stays" around the collar to prevent the folding from happening. The collar would still be just as comfortable for the dog but less likely to do that turtleneck fold when a determined dog is trying to reach a spot he's not supposed to reach. And it would keep the top from flopping over the dog's forehead.

Mon chien devait porter une collerette suite à une opération de l'oreille, et c'était l'enfer, il se faisait mal au cou à force que la collerette se coince dans tout et lui tire la tête sur le côté. Problème réglé avec cette collerette souple ! Non seulement ça, mais il a pu renifler à nouveau le sol en balade, et recevoir plus de câlins ! Je recommande vivement ce produit.

I got this last minute as my diabetic blind dog was having cataract surgery which was successful. The Zen cone was awesome and more comfortable than plastic worth every cent.
