It works
Bought a acoustic guitar online of the same model I already had in a different wood combo, from a private seller. Action was very high. I was able to clone the string height from one guitar to another, by a truss rod adjustment, using this device. It doesn't seem at this point I will need to set an appointment for a professional set up. Problem solved.If you're new to this, understand that high action string heights are much more difficult to play than low action string heights. Imagine pushing down 20% more each time you fret a note, this causes long term hand fatigue and you just won't be able to get to notes fast enough if you're action is too high. Go to a guitar shop and play an expensive guitar that is properly setup at the right string height and you'll understand immediately, there is a night and day difference.

Good tool for measuring string height
It works well. The measurement guide printed on the side is a great help. My son, who has never measured string height in his life, got it right the first try. It also measures pickup height.

NOT a fret rocker
I guess this is marketed as a ruler and for that its fine. I was mistaken and thought this was a fret rocker as well. I was confused for the longest time as one side rocks on all my frets. I think it must be the coating isnt totally even on that side. Point being this is NOT a suitable fret rocker! Thats a different product.

A tool that I use a lot of the time
I have this and a couple of similar items from well known companies. All of them are useful and good but I always reach for this one. The edge with string height marked in 64ths of an inch is something I use for quite a few guitars. It also functions as a fret rocker and has a scale for setting pickup height. It has inches/fractions on one side an metic units on the other. It also has a table listing 1/64th through 9/64ths of an inch with equivalent decimal values for inches and mm in separate columns. The metal is sturdy enough and the lettering is etched and painted.
