Medline Comfortable Folding Wheelchair with Swing-Back Desk-Length Arms and Swing-Away Footrests, 20”W x 16”D Seat

This is a fantastic chair! I bought it 8 months ago for my 96 yr-old mother. I use it multiple days each week to transport her to appointments and excursions away from home. It has a strong sturdy frame, is super easy and smooth to push, and it turns 360 degrees/takes tight corners with ease. It’s so much easier to maneuver than a transport chair and is a more comfortable ride for my mother.The brakes are very good, but the levers are hard to push sometimes. I’m hoping they will get easier with time. Also, the brakes are on the front of the wheels. This placement is for a person that’s sitting in the chair and maneuvering it themselves. Since I’m using it as a transport chair, this location is awkward.The chair is a bit heavy if you’re not very strong (as I am not); but, it’s very manageable once you find a method of getting it in and out of your car that works best for you. I watched some YouTube videos to see different ways to do this.To protect the car exterior, I drape an old scatter rug over the bottom edge of the cargo area opening so I can rest/slide the chair on the car when lifting it in or out without damaging the car’s finish.I highly recommend this chair.

This wheel chair is wide, easy to open or close to store and light! Great value too. It made my life so much easier transporting a loved to Dr. appointments.

It’s not a real lightweight chair. But, it was purchased for a heavier weight person. So, it’s sturdy and capable of being put in the back of the Subaru. It now can allow the caretaker to take a walk and push the patient for both getting time outdoor. They can shop together. All good. I will say, at the factory, they put the foot rest on backwards. I had to take it apart and correct that (10 minutes unscrewing, wiggling the thing off a tight fit on the metal tube, changing the direction, putting it back on the tube, and rescrewing). Also, the packaging box was so beat up, with large gashed holes in it, that I took pictures of the packaging and almost sent it back without opening. I ended up taking a chance and opened it as really needed the chair. I was very surprised to find everything in the box. The chair was in good shape except for a slight small crack on a plastic piece, if I recall correctly, think it was the frame bottom on an armrest. I used some superglue to hopefully fix that issue.

I am a retired nurse & have used every w/c in all settings. Needed this for my spouse in order to keep him at home, transferring from room to room etc. This Medline is a quality chair, light weight, sturdy, smooth ride, easy to fold, load into the car. Great price too! Needed this chair on short notice, it came in 3 days. If I had pursued an insurance reimbursed chair, it would have involved a MD visit, at least 2 OT visits & who knows how many days to get! This was the perfect solution, cost effective & timely plus Medline is a quality DME provider. I highly recommend this chair! For reference, my spouse is 5’10” & weighs 290 lbs.
