Q: Does this just screw onto a regular water bottle?

It fits most soda bottles, and some water. The flimsier water bottles don't work well. Smartwater or another heavier bottle work fine. You put an airhole in the bottom and screw it on. That's it!

Q: What is the best way to hang the bottles? I have a long twist tie for the small bottles but how do I hang 2 liter bottles?

I don't know if it's the best method but has worked for me. I drilled 2 holes on either side of the bottle. I then used a sturdy wire and pushed it through from dude to side, twisted the ends and use that to hang it. It's worked like a charm do far. Good luck!

Q: Will this work for adult hens? Also, would this fit in glass bottles?

Works perfectly for adult hens. You will need to demonstrate by tapping the tip with your finger and offering the expressed water to your flock. I would suggest doing this often throughout the first days until you observe at least one hen using it. Others will follow her lead. Keep your other water system in place for at least a week. They may freeze in cold weather requiring adding warm water to container and tapping water nipple to dislodge ice. Bottle nipple fits plastic beverage bottles. Clear to observe water level is preferable. Tractor Supply sells buckets with them attached. Search "chicken nipple" for more info including videos. I love them. I've trained 2 day old chicks to use them.
