Great for the serious woodworker!
I purchased this product in September of 2017 after discovering the square I had been using for a couple of years was not actually square. I settled on this square after reading the guarantee of accuracy, and after considering Woodpeckers' legendary reputation among the woodworking community. So far, I have been 100% happy. This square is a fair amount of money for such a simple tool, so it is probably not for the hobbyist. I needed dead-accurate 90 degree corners every time, but a hobbyist could probably get by with a less expensive brand. When I received my square, the first thing I did was check the accuracy of the product. I did this by placing it against a known straightedge, and scribing a line on the inside of the blade. I then flipped the square over, and scribed another line parallel to my first line. The two lines were exactly parallel by my eye. I then measured the lines with calipers and they were dead-on parallel to one another. The fact that the lines were parallel proved to me that the square was in fact exactly 90 degrees. There are many other characteristics I like about this square. For instance the "shelf" that runs along the inside of the body of the square is a welcome addition in my shop. This "shelf" allows the square to rest on the edge of a workpiece, and not tip over like most squares. Another lovely feature is the notch on the inside of the square where the blade meets the body. This notch allows you to get a pencil all the way down to the bottom corner, and therefore ensure accuracy. Another feature that I would not use but have actually found amazing is the accuracy of all the square's constituent pieces. The blade is exactly 1/4 inch thick, and the body is exactly 3/4 inch thick. This has proven handy when quickly wanting to check the thickness of stock. The last feature I enjoy is the anodized red finish. This finish is durable and very pleasing to the eyes, and feels nice in the hand. The only issue that I have with the square is the fact that it is made out of aluminum. While this is plenty strong for woodworking needs, it does make me more wary of dropping the tool and damaging it. This issue, however, has all but resolved itself as I am not much more careful with the tool and therefore unlikely to drop it.Overall, I would very much recommend this product to the non-hobbyist woodworker. The peace of mind it offers is unparalleled, and it is a pleasure to use.

Excellent
This is my first precision square, and it revealed that the cheap squares I had, and the 50+ year old squares I inherited weren't truly square. The ones I had were awfully close to square, great for building a house, a deck or a chicken coop, but wholly inadequate for fine woodworking. This square is well made and it's clear to me that it will last many decades. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Great tool, way cheaper when bought directly on their website
The 2616 is an awesome square that is a must have for calibrating the MFT, in my opinion. I purchased the tool on Amazon and soon noticed that I paid $379 vs $289 as listed the woodpeck website.I called woodpeck's customer service number and they said that they markup the price because of the "cost of doing business with Amazon". Interestingly enough, the customer service rep suggested that I return the unit through amazon and then re-order directly through the website.Funny thing is that they'll still be stuck shipping costs on amazon if I do this (which I will) and have to fulfill another order. Worst case scenario for them if I return this and choose to NOT order a replacement, they'll have to pay 2nd day air shipping one way (when I got it) and shipping back to them (due to amazon return) and get no sale out of the deal.I offered to even buy more stuff on their store directly and they can credit me the difference, but that was a no-go.Makes no sense from a business bottom line perspective, but i guess CSR are there just to follow rules of the game, not maximize revenue.

spot on square
Seems spot on square to me as confirmed by two machinist squares and the five cut method. Durable, and a great warranty, too. If you need "close to square," save money and buy knockoffs. If you need spot on, spend the money.

Just the best of the best
It’s easy to use right out of the package, multiple sizes, it is easy to read and one of the most precise squares in terms of squareness their is.

My Go To tool
Everything related to wood joinery starts with square corners and edges. If you don't begin with these then all your dimensions and joined parts will not come together correctly and you will waste time and effort trying to make corrections. I could not be more pleased with the design features, quality material and rugged construction of the Woodpeckers' Precision Square. I have not found a better square to use with my marking knife during 45 plus years of woodworking and it has quickly earned its place in my workshop as the first tool I reach for when I begin a project.I particularly appreciate the feature of the extended lip around the inner edge of the short leg that allows it to rest on the board edge and the small cut out at the center point so you can run a line with your pencil or knife all the way to that board edge. The square comes in a solid fitted storage "carrier" that hangs prominently on the wall with my tools but I'm using it so much that it seldom goes back there to rest. Expensive but more than worth its cost as I will be using and depending upon this for years to come.

Premium products, Unique niche market.
This square is excellent and super straight. I love that they ship them in CNC routed MDF holders to protect them from damage (and store nicely in your shop also).I love Woodpecker's products. I have two lifts (and a nice collection of aluminum rings) and several of their other OTTs. I have two of their squares, including this one. All of their stuff is well made and very precise. High quality. I think they also subcontract out some products under the Pinnacle name to Woodcraft (or did in the past) and those are also high quality.Customer service direct from Woodpeckers leaves something to be desired. I have experienced long delays in receipt of some of their OTTs - to the point of it being 2-3 months after the promised ship date. Did not experience that on this purchase however since this is their standard product line.
