These are excellent moisture meters. They last a long time (just don't drop them!). We live on clay soil and have several gardens with gravel/rock mulch and these continue to function well longer than any other brand I've tried. They also work well in potted plants, of course.

These work well. They are not small but quite good for indoor plants if you have a place to store it.

I have 3 different brands of moisture meters, and tend to prefer the ones with one probe. The problem is that meters with single probes don't seem to be as accurate as those with two probes. Another single probe meter I have tends to register the soil moisture as dry when it is obviously wet, even to the touch. This one registers them as wet, when it is obviously dry. I have left parsley grown indoors without watering when this meter registered it as wet. The next day, the parsley was totally wilted. Although the double probe meters seem to be more accurate, using them is not always practical if the soils is hard and difficult to penetrate. For example, I grow large veggie greens, such as kale and collards, in pans that over time become full of roots. This makes the soil impossible to test with a finger, and the double probe meters are difficult to get into the soils. For these pans, I use the single-probe meters to get a "best guess" on whether the plants need watering. Having used this meter and others like it, I have gotten to know when the plants need watering. This meter is a great tool, but it is just that - a tool. It does help to determine whether your plants need watering, but you also have to use common sense in using it. If the meter says you soil is wet, and it feels dry 2" down, your plant likely needs watering. It's also important to know the watering needs of your plants. This meter does seem to often agree with the double probe meter I have. So, I believe it is more accurate than some, but it's always a good idea to use another probe or just your finger. Some plants, such as parsley, basil, and tomatoes, like to be kept on the moist side. Others, such as rosemary, collards, and kale, like to dry out a bit before watering. If your plants dry out to the point of wilting too often, it weakens the plant. Some plants, such as greens, parsley, etc., will recover from wilting, and others, such as tomatoes, will lose the wilted leaves. Moisture meters are tools that can help in determining whether your plants need watering, but nothing replaces common sense. I hope this review was helpful for you.

I’m really pleased with these Gouevn Soil Moisture Meters. We were having issues with some of our larger indoor plants dropping leaves, and I quickly realized that the moisture levels were inconsistent. These meters have been crucial in ensuring we’re not over or under-watering our plants. Knowing the moisture level at the root level is the only true way to gauge watering needs. In our case, we were underwatering, and since using these meters, the plants have been doing much better. The two-pack is great value, and the meters are well made, reliable, and easy to use. They do their job effectively, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to take better care of their plants.

I had one of these for years and it worked perfectly, but eventually the tip came off at some point so I needed a replacement since I have lots of houseplants. I bought the same item because it was durable and worked well, and helped keep my plants healthy. Recommended.

Outil de jardinage très utile mais aussi relativement fragile. La tige métallique se sépare facilement de la tête de l'outil, le rendant inutilisable. Il arrive aussi très souvent que la pointe de la sonde se décroche de la tige, rendant encore une fois l'outil inutilisable. J'ai acheté 4 de ces sondes récemment, et pour éviter qu'elles ne se brisent au niveau de la pointe, j'ai utilisé un poinçon assez petit pour marteler le métal (cuivre) à la jonction avec la pointe, à 4 endroits autour du joint, pour rendre plus difficile la séparation des parties. ÇA MARCHE TRÈS BIEN. Elles sont maintenant bien plus robustes; elles ne se détachent plus. Idéalement, ce traitement très simple devrait être fait par le manufacturier!
