5 pounds cat Litter Box Washable Refill granules use in cat Genie catgenie

All of the negative reviews seem to be using this as regular litter. That's NOT what this is for. It's for the Cat Genie brand automatic litter box. It tracks just as bad as the name brand granules but it's a little more noticable on my white tile floor but this product is a better value so I'll deal with it. As for how much ends up in the toilet, I'd say it's also about the same as the name brand but is more noticable because they stand out. I made a mesh that fits in my toilet that's easily removable to catch the litter because I don't feel good about flushing plastic down the toilet. I'd give this product a 10/10.

Great item but the bag it was in, inside of the box, had been ripped & was slowly leaking from the un-taped sides of the shipping box.

Works great as a substitute for the CatGenie litter box.

Please, for the love of everything you consider holy, do not use this litter.It is much bigger than the granules made by Cat Genie and it can clog your drain hose and hopper(?), causing the machine to throw a drainage issue warning.My husband and I just finished taking the machine apart, clearing the blockage from the drain hose, and mopping the area we walked on through the house to get it outside because the machine is so heavy when full of water and sloshes while you walk with it. We are both covered in poppy water and it was a horrible mess. Do not use this product.

I think it is a great idea. Not only would you save a small fortune in cost, the convience of not having to hit the pet store to restock. We have 2 male neutered males. One of them used the litter at first, I took the soiled box outside to clean the litter. I used an old aluminum collander with very small holes. I rinsed with the hose, but, still smelled urine, so I used dawn, let it soak, rinsed,& it still smelled. This was in the summer. My friend said to leave it sit in the sun for a few days. (it gets xtremely hot here. And that worked. I filled one of the boxes back up, but, they wouldnt use it. They are used to crystal litter.

I love these for our 3 cats! Better than the Cat Genie brand! They don't stick to the bottom of our cats feet as bad, therefore less pellets to pick up! I have already reordered! Other brands float, have miss matched pellets which can break you Cat Genie!

Way more of these flush down the will it be in the original CatGenie granules. With each wash I would say there is about half a teaspoon of granules in the toilet. Maybe more. I am not digging in there to find out. I think it has something to do with the shape and the fact many of them float. They seem to stick to the scooper way easier than the original. I thought after a few washings they would stop sticking but I was wrong. So yes they are cheaper but probably won't last as long.

The small molded pellets work better than the Cat Genie shaved flakes. They slide through the scoop rake smoothly. However the cat still carries some outside the Genie. A mesh mat that can be opened to dump the litter into the Genie helps.
