Design House 500546 Millbridge Traditional Indoor Dimmable Chandelier with Clear Ribbed Glass Shades for Entryway Foyer Dining Room, Polished Brass, 5-Light

This is GORGEOUS and I was THRILLED with the price. Problem was they sent me originally a banged up box with a cracked alabaster globe .... which is not the ribbed glass chandelier globe that the picture on Amazon or the box shows. I liked the alabaster, however, and originally asked manufacturer to replace. Weeks later, when I got an electrician to install, he complained the alabaster globe had no ""lip" and could not be attached properly to hold each light bulb. I called the manufacturer again, and they agreed to send me five NEW ribbed glass globes which were originally showing on the Amazon ad and the box. In the meantime, I went to Lowes and bought smaller globes to fit in so I could see in room, which I had to later return for a refund. Once I received new larger ribbed glass globesm, I had to rehire another electrician to install. Although the manufacturer was great about sending globes I needed, it TOOK TWO MONTHS before I finally had it up. I later saw this same chandelier in several new model homes and was thrilled I got it at half price. BUT..... what an ordeal!!!!!!!!

So I purchased this chandelier for a parent who's beginning some lite renovations and improvements around her home in the coming year. An older house her's uses fixtures with brass trims and she wishes to keep the overall look which means that while window shopping at the local hardware chain store she found a chandelier that she liked (a near exact copy of this) but only in brushed nickel finish and rubbed oil bronze, not brass. Finding it on the chain's website I opted to match it with Amazon finding it a bit cheaper and as it was the holiday season I saved further with free shipping vs. that of the chain's site.The chandelier arrived in good condition, no broken parts or anything. However I believe the following - 1) The instructions are literally the back of one page and the diagram is very basic. We were able to figure it out without issue, but a more detailed set of instructions could be of benefit. 2) The chandelier is heavy - it's metal and the shades are actual glass and there's five of them. A steel braided safety cable would be a big benefit here if you're concerned about the chandelier pulling out of the electrical box in the ceiling (not all of them are secured as they're supposed to be and you don't necessarily know until a light fixture falls). 3) Brass is a soft metal, I know that. While the chandelier arrived without issue I did see that some of the arms were slightly bent (reference picture) so that the lights aren't perfectly flat. My parent doesn't necessarily care, she's just overjoyed, but it bothers me a little. I'm tempted to try and bend them so they're all straight but I'm concerned about warping them or outright snapping one arm off. 4) The chain is difficult to attach. If it's to long you have to use a big pair of pliers to open a link, take it up and then close the link. The inclusion of a matching caliper (brass or painted to look like brass) would've made it quick and easy to take up however many links. These are the reasons that I give it four out of five stars. If the manufacturer would work on these things then I'd rate it better...

Good product for the price. It is well made. A bit heavy so it needs to be bolted to the stud.The installation manual is useless, you must follow your knowledge and intuition otherwise you will go crazy trying to read the directions.

This fits nicely over my dining area table. The 5 lights give ample light to the area. It it would not be large enough in my opinion in a large dining room.

Looks good for money.

Screws that hold the glass shrouds in place some what flimsy! Could use better way to hold glass shrouds in place. metal to thin for threading

Love the fixture just wish all of the parts had been included. Missing the canopy which is the piece that hides the hole in the ceiling and what the chain is attached to. Hoping it is sent soon. Have to wait till Monday to call them.Forgot to update. They were very prompt in getting us the missing parts. Once we got it hung, it looks beautiful:)
