Keepers Dolly Duds Designs Presents... The 19th Century Collection: Doll Clothes Patterns for 18-inch Dolls Paperback – June 12, 2018

Patterns are included as part of the pages of the book, so the first thing I did was go to a local print shop and have spiral binding put on the book. This makes it easy to copy the patterns and also to read the instructions while the book is flat. My disappointment is that the book is printed in black and white, rather than in color, so the photos of completed dresses are just gray-toned. This makes it hard to see how lovely the finished dresses are and also difficult to see details in the dresses. Instructions are clear.

First, the patterns are printed on the pages of the book, which means that a used copy will have the patterns! Love that! I did buy new, but just want people to know they can buy this used and get the patterns. You will have to photocopy them or trace them off to use them, but that is good as well because you will always have the original kept clean and safe within. There are both a glossary of terms and full instructions to make these items of apparel. Dresses, aprons and jacket etc. are very nicely illustrated with drawn instruction pictures which really show you the assembly of each garment. All in all I am very happy with this book and the quality of the patterns.

Lovely patterns for 18” dolls. Easy to follow instructions. The patterns are part of the instruction booklet, so they must be photo copied or traced before using. I do recommend this pattern book!

Eve Coleman is well known among doll clothes designers. She extensively researches period clothing as the basis for her designs. These patterns are a bit complex and some seams have tight curves, so I would recommend this book only for experienced sewers or those committed to becoming experienced.

This book is fabulous! It is well written with clear and easy to follow instructions. The illustrations are excellent and very helpful. I will continue to purchase this authors books and patterns in the future!
