Great for the price
I never really had the guts to try Pyle stuff until I was at a friends house who had a Pyle surround sound system installed for his Blu Ray player. Sounded AMAZING! So when I needed new stereo stuff for my wife's car I decided to try it out. Perfect for what I needed. Inexpensive speakers, but they sound good and they fit. If I was rich I'd probably still go with Pioneers or something on that level, but these are perfect for what I needed.

Good value, good sound
They do pretty well for such a small speaker. Not much bass response, which you'd expect, but if you need small front speakers that fit in a tight spot these are worth it.

Okay replacements, but not much of an upgrade
I bought a pair of these Pyle PLX462 speakers to replace the defective door speakers in my 2000 Grand Am. Installation was fairly easy; the speakers are a direct fit into the factory brackets, but the wiring needed some modification since the Grand Am doesn't use standard connectors. I ended up soldering some of the Pyle cable (which is merely adequate) to the end of the factory harness. Sound is... okay. These speakers have very little bass response compared to the factory speakers, and they bottom out and make "cracking" sounds with anything but the quietest bass lines or drum beats. Midrange aren't too bad, but the highs are fairly harsh. I ended up splicing a pair of 400uF capacitors into the positive wire to filter out bass below about 120Hz to stop the speakers distorting. Quality control, however, isn't that hot. One is definitely quieter than the other, and when swapping them left-to-right, the difference follows the speakers. But for under $25 they'll do until I can afford something of higher quality.

Stink ?
Arrived in a box; when I opened it the smell nearly knocked me over. These arrived with a smell that can only be described are horrid. Burnt electronics and then some (I've fried my share of motors and transformers and Allen-Bradleys). These speakers are coated in something that reeks of this odor. I've had them sitting in my backyard - too smelly for the garage - and I am hoping the full sun here in AZ will cook the smell off. So far, they still stink so I'll probably ship them back. I can't imagine what the car would smell like had I installed them.

Better than average
I added these speakers in the back of my 94 GMC Sonoma extended cab along with Pyle PLDV62 DV Series 2-Way 6.5" 240W Speakers in the door. I bought the Pioneer DEHX3500UI In-Dash CD/MP3/USB Car Stereo Receiver. All together it sounds very good. The whole system starts to distort bass at high volume; but, for a system that cost around $100 it sounds good. If you want a system that sounds really good inside the vehicle this works great. If you want to annoy the neighbors from a block away this is not going to work. This type of vehicle has 4x6 speakers in the dash which will require a 4 channel amp hooked up to 4 of the speakers.

Camper Sounds
We used these speakers to replace the old speakers in our vintage travel camper. The speakers look beautiful, there was no logo affixed to the grille, so it looks appropriate in the vintage decor. They sound much better than the old speakers, but we should add a subwoofer to enhance the lows. Overall a nicely priced replacement set, which were easy to install and have a clean look and sound for the price.

Great sound for little cost
I purchased these speakers to replace a pair of outdoor speakers. The outdoor speakers were there for at least 7 years.... it was time. I opened the speaker enclosure and made sure the dimensions were correct prior to purchasing the Pyle PLX42 4" 120 watt speakers. WOW these speakers rock! so much louder than the other ones. I just hope they last at least 5 years in this Arizona heat.
