House of Secrets: Battle of the Beasts (House of Secrets, 2)

These books are so fun to read. Would be nice to have the kid find themselves in REAL books we are familiar with. Hope more books are coming. Little disappointed there was not one reference to Game of Thrones this time, they were unexpected a quite funny in the first book. Gotta have more Fat Jagger!

I just didn't enjoy this one as much as the original. The story was ok but bounced around in some ways that made it seem as if the author didn't have a full enough main storyline so he added in more random situations to make up for it. The scenes weren't as captivating as the first one, and I felt like the new characters needed some more in depth personalities and background stories. Certain sections were very fun, like the monks in the mountains and beasts they had to deal with. Maybe the author was writing for a younger demographic on the second book in the series or maybe his publisher rushed him so that he had less time to flush everything out to provide the deeper connection that was missing. In the original book the unusual situations and encounters the children dealt with all worked together and had a fun flow. This time the situations seemed too scattered and as if we jumped out of a fantasy based story where we are in a coliseum dealing with gladiators and a moment later, bam... a SciFi story with robotic Nazis takes over. I am sue many of the young adults who read it will enjoy it, but some of the disjointed dealing may confuse them. As an adult who loves a huge variety of literature including imaginative well developed young adult story, this left me disappointed. I am sure with a bit more time and work the author could have polished this one up and made it better for all the fans of the original.

Because this book has so much spirit and generosity of heart it teaches excellent lessons. Teens would benefit greatly fron these role models.

This book was purchased for my 10 year old granddaughter. She loved the book and can't wait for the third book in the series to come out. The book arrived in great time and was in "new" condition. Thanks.

My little boy is just eight he has a real love of reading. He had read book one which we rented from the Library and immediately he was so hooked he was totally obsessed and needed desperately to read the next book. Well the Library had not got it yet and when they get it there was a huge list of other children equally wanting the same book. We were due to travel back to our house in France and needed a book to keep him happy so we ordered it !! From the moment he got his hands on it, it was none stop reading and before we reached Dover the book was half read, no talking just head in book totally riveted. After reaching France the journey continued with a very happy and excited little boy in the back of the car, then it happened tears and an unhappy face the comment was "they did not make it long enough!!" can you please get me the next book??!! I was hoping it was going to last the return journey too, I mean it was 507 pages!! Please help me and get the next book organised for the Summer Holidays!!

This book is amazing I definitely recommend that you read it if your interests are: mystical creatures, amazing battles, epic characters and evil villains then this is the book for you. But I would say to read the first book (house of secrets three normal kids one hell of a curse) before you read house of secrets battle of the beasts because you won't really understand it that we'll.YOU HAVE TO READ THISI'm extremely pleased. But I would like to have the price down a bit even though it has already gone down 56%.get this book NOW

Just as good as the first one if not better as spon as my dad got ot for me all I did was read it and finished it in 4 days!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE WHO LIKES ACTION ADVENTURE AND MAGICWORTH TEN STARS!!!👍

From start to finish I absolutely CHERISHED every word of this AWSOME book.It has a fabulous twist and a ENORMOUS amount of hummer I would recommend this book to any reader in need of an adventurous novel. Honestly if I could I would give this book a 10/10 but unfortunately I only have up to 5 stars .My main advice is to BUY THIS BOOK AND TRUST ME IT IS EPIC !!!!!!!!!!Note to Chris Columbus: PLEASE WRITE ANOTHER BOOK FOR THIS SERIES I AM SO EXITED FOR THE NEXT ONE!! Yay!

My daughter has read the first book ages ago and had no other books and decided to read it again. she found out that there was the second book and immediately bought it. she says that "the first one was far better but then again nothing could top the first house of secrets"she didn't think that it was worth the money although it kept her quiet for a while. taking Brendan away was her first disappointment. she thought that it wasn't the same with all of them split up. The only disappointment was that it didn't live up to the first book otherwise it was a very good book.
