Three out of the five activities as well as the sing-alongs were a hit with child testers, particularly kids at the upper end of the age range. These seven- and eight-year-old children loved the Jungle Journal that lets them use the artwork from the movie and write accompanying stories. In addition to the nice range of stickers and background scenes to choose from, testers enjoyed the symbol/alphabet set that turned their writing into secret code. Kids also liked the challenging ball ricochet game in which they have to direct a bouncing animal ball to the squares representing the appropriate food, such as bananas for a monkey. Although they wished for more, children were enthusiastic about the three sing-along songs that are taken from the movie. Their parents told us that the kids loved to belt out the words while the music played. Drawbacks to the program are fairly minor. It took testers a while to figure out how to control the tunes they created in the open-ended music activity. The total number of games to play is relatively small, but the numerous difficulty levels and the drawing and music creation activities help keep things interesting. The program's games would also benefit from a common thread- they don't seem to belong together. On the whole, however, kids won't be disappointed.
