Perfect food, perhaps. Update.
I'm the proud momma of an aging miniature American Eskimo and a young adult APBT with food allergies (grain and chicken). The Eskie needs a small kibble otherwise she cannot chew the food, the pibble cannot have any poultry byproducts or he gets a terrible rash and grain causes IBS symptoms. Ideally, they need to be on the same food because feeding them separately is a whole other headache.I spent weeks pouring over dog food reviews, feeding guidelines and ingredient lists that ultimately contained things I was trying to avoid. Once I succeeded in finding a brand of food without grain OR chicken/poultry, the trick was finding one that would not break my budget; that brought me to Merrick Texas Beef. This food is a godsend for my mismatched pups. They both have improved energy levels, smaller feces, lower breath and skin odor, ZERO allergy symptoms from my APBT and my elderly Eskimo has no problems eating the very small kibbles.A 25lb bag lasts my two dogs just under 4 weeks. If you're on the hunt for a high quality food for your dog, give this one a shot.Edit: my review was written before Purina took over Merrick pet foods. I can no longer stand by the accuracy of my statements. As far as I know, they have not changed the ingredients but the sources for those ingredients HAVE changed. Please research before purchasing. I have switched to another brand and no longer purchase Purina-made Merrick foods. (April 16th, 2018)

Happy dogs and owners
The product arrived just in time with a very good packaging. I like how Merrick cares about every detail of the products. The bag is really resistant and is reseleable (other expensive brands don't have it when you buy big packages) and the product was in perfect conditions. I always check the food as it arrives, but so far i never had problems. I prefer this smaller size of this dry food (at least in comparison with the pork one) and the smell...well is really meat smell. You can notice the difference between the different recipes and i like it very much. My dogs are fortunetely not picky at all, but they look particularly excited when i tell them that is time to eat now. They seem to digest it pretty well, no bloating and no changes on the stools, just perfect. The ingredients are great quality and all good for the dogs, no strange fillers. You can tell is a great product by how much the pets are happy, energic and beautiful. This grain free formula is a awesome. I will purchase it for sure at this price.

My Dogs Love This Healthy Food!
About 6 weeks ago, I adopted two small (23-pound and 27-pound) rescued dogs. I'd wanted to feed high-quality dog foods, but I also wanted food that both dogs would enjoy. Initially, I'd fed some average dog foods, some that were free with the dog adoptions and some that I'd picked up in my local discount department store. The dogs seemed to like the taste just fine. But, when I switched to Acana Grasslands on the advice of a friend, they didn't care so much for its taste. Consulting [...], I looked for other 5-star dog foods. And that's when I found Merrick. First, I opened a bag of the chicken flavor, which my dogs seemed to like pretty well. After I'd used about 2/3 of that bag, I opened the Texas beef flavor. My dogs loved this flavor and will now only eat the chicken if there is no Texas beef in their bowls and they are really hungry.I'm very happy to find a Dog Food Advisor 5-star dog food that my dogs love. It is significantly less expensive than the Acana, too, which is great. And I love that I can order it through Amazon Prime and have it on my doorstep in two days.

This lacks fiber but it otherwise works well for our sensitive dog
I purchased this after I noticed Taste of the Wild changed their formula (which required my dogs to have bigger servings- and meant that prices essentially shot up). One of my dogs is a bull mastiff mix with sensitive skin and so far, he is doing well on this diet. My other dog, an Australian shepherd, is happy with this (but she can eat anything). Both my dogs can breathe this stuff in, so I'm guessing it's really tasty to them. This is expensive, but it is also one of the more affordable "high-end"/ grain-free dog food lines so I'm ranking this pretty high for affordability.I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because I noticed that my dogs have started eating grass a lot after switching to this diet. I read that they do this to improve their digestion or to take in nutrients that are missing from their diet (most likely fiber). Judging from their soft, narrow stools and research on the internet, I'm guessing they are fiber deficient (which makes sense on a grain-free diet). We've tried other dog foods like Blue Buffalo, Orijen and Taste of the Wild, but all of those have caused skin allergy problems with the bull mastiff. I will stick to this for now and supplement their diet with some fiber. I read that slippery elm bark (a soluble fiber) will help with the loose, pencil-like stools so I'll try that and update this review in a few months.

Missing resealable but it's still good
Picky about my dogs food, although this one has a high protein content, which is good for some dogs and bad for others, this review is of the companies products. Decent size and quality for dog food of this type. Dog mostly eats homemade dog food but getting older and lazy do I needed a supplement food and this was one of the few brands my dog enjoyed eating, coupled with the nutrients present. My only grip, as with all dry dog food, make sure they have enough water as dry dog food can keep a dog dehydrated even if it drank water. Otherwise the variaty of flavors, recipes and even breed specificity makes Merrick one of my top choices for dog food.

garbage dog food
It doesn't match the picture at all, and can't be returned. 1.8kg sells for $106, grabbing money?
