Elegant and Functional
Looking to add the finishing touches after putting up 3 birdhouses gifted to the wife for Christmas. Looked at a few options but this glass topper is pretty darn nice. Initially I was disappointed when I handed the box to her so she could install it (simply sets on post top) and she came in saying it looked pretty Christmasy being green with the blue and red birdhouse. What? I said. They sent green instead of blue but it was an easy transaction sending the green back and them sending the blue ones. It’s pretty heavy and not likely to break unless some freak hailstorm came through but it would have to be a doozy. Solid recommended buy if you want durable, classy and unique.

Beautiful, well-made.
Classy looking! I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of the glass and the quality of the product. Our "4 x 4" posts are, as most are I think, actually 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and these toppers fit snuggly and securely. They recommend silicone to attach them so they don't accidentally pull off. Also if you silicone them you can leave them raised a bit so more light gets through the sides, instead of being flat down on the top of the post. They look beautiful with the sun shining through them. They are a little darker amber than pictured, but very nice. We found that if you put a piece of sturdy white plastic cut to fit on top the post before installing the topper, it will look brighter than without. The sun bouncing off the white makes the amber show up better. Either way they are pretty. We thought we wanted just a few (three) for accent, but we will probably order some more to do the other posts as well as they aren't overwhelming. Just a nice addition. They came well-packed, boxed inside of a box inside of a bigger box.

Nice topper
The topper has a nice heft to it and feels really robust. The depth of the seat over the post was deeper than I expected, at least an inch, so the topper stays on w/o adhesive, no problem (not worried about theft). Color is as advertised.

This was one piece to replace a broken post cap.
I bought a set of these post caps and they broke when swollen by humidity. I live in Nashville, TN and it is like a rain forest here. We had new post caps installed which were slightly smaller than the original ones but came up one short somehow. I think the contractor borrowed one and forgot to return it. Anyway I ordered this one because it looked like the same product but found that it is several shades lighter than the others. I have these along 2 sides of the deck (12' x 24'). The house is on one of the short ends (of the deck) and there is only one post in the middle of the other short end, so this is the odd man out. Still, it looks pretty good, but I paid twice as much for this one as I did for the others. I won't be buying any more of these. If this second batch of post caps break up, I am switching to something else. The original post caps were copper solar lights. Don't get those. They last a season or two and the lights stop working.

Wonderful, but overpriced.
We have about 20 of these on our fenceposts. One broke during a tree removal. They are very expensive, but I could not find them anywhere else, and I wanted one to match the others. They do an excellent job of keeping rain and moisture out of the top of fenceposts, and they are beautiful.

Love these post caps.
The 10 post caps I ordered arrived in massive amounts of bubble wrap, so someone was apparently listening to previous feedback about shipping breakage.I am very pleased with these caps. I bought them in black, which perfectly compliments my deck with black balusters. They are heavy with a solid feel and they are all perfectly identical. They are quite opaque, which works very well in the black and is what I hoped they would be.Our 4x4 cedar posts were cut a bit short for these caps to balance correctly, causing them to tilt a bit against stairway railings so we cut 4" sections of 1x4 wood to nail to the top of each post. This elevates them by another 5/8" and allows the caps to rest squarely on the posts. This would not be an issue if the posts were a minimum of 2" above the rails. We plan on further securing them with a drop of silicone under each corner, although this would not be totally necessary. The only improvement I could make to these caps would be for the manufacturer to add 2-4 very small holes on the sides in order to add tiny nails securing them to the posts.

GLOWING
There are a lot of post caps on the market today that rely on solar charging to shine. This product doesn't glow at night but in the sunlight - it shimmers with a deep, blue color. I am sure the other colors are similar. It is a quality product, it fit perfectly on the 4 x 4 post, was easy to install and looks stunning. And best of all, no batteries to wear out. This will always look good. Every time I look outside and see this beautiful blue cap on my new white fence, I smile with satisfaction and pleasure. The two I purchased were worth the money.

Beautiful, but also disappointing….
……after purchasing a pair of these, I was casually poking around the internet and found the exact same brand items priced 10 or 11 dollars less each! It was too late to cancel my order, and rather than return them I decided to keep both. They are actually extremely attractive, and we love the appearance. Laugh if you must, but our home is very rustic, and the stairs were built using 4x4s as newel posts (well sanded and finished, btw).We are using these as caps in the house, and are very satisfied with the results, but missing out on saving a bit over 20 dollars stings just a bit.
