Lovely well built quality sensor. Fast delivery. Really helped me out in a difficult situation.

The module is well built and easy to install. It is brightly colored and works like a champ. Their processing and timeless was a wonderful plus.

Float switch works great!

Used this to replace an effluent pump float switch. Easy to set without having to remove old switch. Counter weight was the key to easy setup.

East to Mount

It comes on at about 10-15 degrees, and goes off at about the same angle. It's easy to place at wherever height you like by firmly attaching the cord to a small rod or post. This can be located at a different surface level than the bottom of your pump, giving some flexibility as to what water level it comes on and goes off. Works well.

Test before mounting!

The media could not be loaded. It works fine once you make sure you mount it to your PVC piping properly. As you can hopefully see in my included video, you have to get past 90 degrees for the switch to trigger. I used a kitchen mixer, but a lamp would have worked just fine for testing. You just need to see when the switch will trigger and give the device power. Used in a smaller contained area may make it more important to determine activation and releasing power to your pump but in my larger underground tank pumping waste water to the leech pit, I have more flexibility. The tank holds hundreds of gallons of water so it can activate the pump to move the water where it needs to go, and leave quite a bit behind to keep the pump from ever having air lock issues. I just thought I would share my results because I thought it was going to work like a mercury switch and thought the rising water would cause it to power the pump sooner than it did. I can’t say 100% but it feels like there is a bearing ball inside and it has to roll to the opposite side and make contact and activate the switch where I thought simply leaving it’s original resting spot would do the trick. This turns out to be a good thing because the ball has to contact the original side to turn the pump off. It makes it where the pump won’t be turning on and off that much in my large underground tank. It will move a couple hundred gallons of water and may go days before needing to do it again! Very pleased with the operation of this switch!

Float switch for sump pump draining. I modified for filling stop switch.

I got this float switch tether to use for my spring water collection system, to stop my transfer pump when collection and settling barrel was filled. I saw in the listing pictures that the wiring in the float shows three wires connected to the Honeywell microswitch, so thought those three wires would run down to the plug and I might be able to swap a couple wires and use it as a filling float, not the typical draining float. Unfortunately the wire to the plug has only two wires, so I couldn't change the mode of operation from normally open to normally closed that way. I ended up just zip tying and taping the cord back along the float to hang it from the other end and changed the operation that way. I understand that I am trying to use this in an unorthodox fashion, but hope this information might help inform others, since the listing pictures led me to hope that all three microswitch connections passed through the wiring. I didn't see an easy way to open the actual float to rewire it, and didn't want to disturb its waterproofing. The plug and float appear rugged and work as designed. One needs to secure the switch such that it can swing through its range without encountering debris or obstructions. With 15A rating at 250vAC, this exceeds my needed requirements and is rated for a million cycles, so should last for years.

Works GREAT!!!

You can see in the photo the old float switch which often would not trigger even when the tub and the area it sits in was completely flooded. It is under my house in the crawlspace so no damage was done but it failed more often than it worked. When I installed this one, the tub was like normal full of water. As you can see it is now as empty as it has ever been. Lots of rain predicted tonight and tomorrow so hoping when I go down to take a look tomorrow that it looks just like this or worst case is not flooded. Fingers crossed. 3/8/24 update. We had 1.5 inches of rain last night. I checked it this AM and the pump was running and the water was down inside the bucket which the old pump often failed. Just checked it again and the bucket looks like the photo above. Very happy. Working great!

Perfect switch for controlling a back up sump pump!

Ordered this float switch to control when my backup sump pump will turn on.My new backup sump pump is sitting in a secondary crock next to the main crock that holds the primary pump. Because the backup pump has a water sensing switch that sits near the bottom of the pump, it kept running never giving the primary pump a chance to run.I installed this floating switch in the secondary crock. Zip tied the wire to the two inch evacuation pipe and set the height that the switch would engage only if the primary sump pump in the main crock had failed. Once the height was chosen I tightened down the zip ties. Plugged the switch into a 110v outlet and then plugged my backup pump into the switches A/C outlet. This is working perfectly! Now when it rains the primary sump pump runs and the secondary pump sits quietly waiting. At the time of this review the GUETNEU Universal Tethered Float Switch was selling for $21.99 which is a great price for this very versatile switch!

Universal Float Switch

This classic float switch comes with an attached 10 foot electrical cord with the piggy-back style 3 prong plug and socket. These do last quite a long time and are dependable. I would recommend to apply a little electric grease to the prong and socket to ensure corrosion resistance and efficiency. Also, be sure to set the switch for the on/off swing float using tape and tie-downs. If not sure about that, there are videos available at various locations on the interwebs.
