Gordon Glass Co. Truck Cap Locking Twist Handle with Cover (Bauer Products Cylinder Lock and Key)

My lock broke on my camper shell so I ordered one of these got it next day 10 minutes it was replaced very easy. Had everything with it new keys new nuts. Took longer to put new key on my key chain.

Works as advertised. Very sturdy.

Fit perfectly on my truck canopy.

Giving a 4 out of 5 for lack of written instructions and no instructional video. That being said, if you take your time and think through how the mechanism works, its pretty intuitive. Fit is good and it works well with no adjustments needed on my Leer Cap

I bought a Toyota Tacoma with a camper shell that didn’t have a key. I bought this and I was a little leery about installing it and if it would be as good as the original, and it was I’m very happy with the purchase, it was easy to put on and now I have a locking camper.

Used this to replace a worn out unit on a Leer canopy. I like this all ABS one better than the original factory pot metal latch. I did not need to disassemble/reassemble the latch, as other reviewers had to do. Mine came correctly oriented.My only gripe is that the key cover on the latch is overly stiff, not the hinge, but the pin used to hold it flat. Perhaps it will loosen over time, but right now it's about to rip my fingernail off when opening the key cover. I ended up using the oval piece in the kit (it's supposed to be used for the cables but I didn't need it) and put that on my key chain just so I can open the key latch cover.

Exactly what I needed for my Century/Leer replacement.

If you are a problem solver, you can install this on your Leer truck camper topper. We had to remove all the Leer lock hardware down to the glass inside and out to install because of the directional fit of this compared to Leer original parts. You are left with a round hole in the glass. There are no instructions, but we installed the gasket between the lock and glass on the outside. On the inside, we were left with a positioning locking washer of sorts that is needed so it doesn't spin freely and a nut to hold the washer in place. We were afraid of damaging the glass and causing a break, so we used a plumbing gasket we had left over from a project between the glass and the positioning locking washer. We then installed the remaining part and nut used to release the latches. The cables didn't work with the new set up so we used some plastic coated cable we had from an old above ground pool cover and made some cable crimper out of some old stuff heavy guage wire. It works fine, but the extra time it took me to figure it out cost me more than spending the extra $30 for Leer brand replacement parts. Leer parts would look better as well.

A quality product over all! Good fitment and an easy install. However the end piece is not threaded so you cant use a nut to hold the piece that turns the cables to open. To make this still work i drilled a 1/8th hole through and used a cotter pin to hold it in which worked great, as long and you have the tools to rig this up it will work as it should!

Not sure how this mechanism is supposed to work, but it certainly did not fit on my Leer glass canopy. Looks similar in the ad, but it does not have the proper fittings for my canopy.
