Ok-ish but has a few foibles and lacks somef functionality
Procured a unit in November '17 to fit in my '09 plate Golf Plus. Watched You Tube for general idea on how to remove VW radio and then installed new unit over a few hours (manual text needs to be made much larger). had to trace a lot of the original wiring harness leads and compare to new harness to work out which options I was going to use and what they needed to be connected to, time consuming but best to be sure of whats connecting to where. Please note if you fit the canbus box, don't connect the ACC wire as the unit will fail to go off with the ignition switch if you don't, which is frustrating as not made clear enough in the manual, and had to learn through contacting the seller for clarification which resulted in having to remove the unit for a second time to correct - frustrating. USB connectivity comes via x2 extension leads taken from the back of the unit which you can position where you wish, however it would have been far more convenient and user friendly to fit a single connector on the front of the unit! Some basics, the DVD player works fine, doesn't like cold weather though and best not used until the vehicle is warm otherwise video is jumpy. USB connectivity is a little temperamental, if you connect a usb stick with MP3 's to it, after a few car start / stops, the unit won't read the usb stick unless you unplug it and plug it back in- again frustrating. The micro SD slot on the front of the unit appears to be far more reliable for putting your music on and not losing connectivity after a few vehicle start / stops. The radio is not that great, the PLL tuning can drift between close bandwidth frequency channels (eg: Radio 2 / Radio Wales) and reception is not good in some areas compared to the original VW / Clarion unit I removed (lots of static noise creeps in), RDS appears slow to pick up channel information. The unit has a bad habit of writing various unprompted random files (android and other apps) onto your SD Card and USB Sticks without your express permission? Bluetooth connectivity is a little unreliable, best stability achieved by placing phone in dash compartment beneath radio, built in microphone is on the wrong side of the unit for RHD cars and people receiving your call will struggle to hear you clearly when you make / take a call because of this. There is an optional input to fit an external mic, and whilst the unit is supplied with a connection for one, no details are provided within the manual of a suitable external unit / specification for one, and trust me, after taking the unit out twice from the dashboard, I don't fancy a third attempt just to fit a microphone (might have been useful if this was supplied with the unit instead of the reversing camera!). Speaking of which, it is a bit fiddly to run a harness all the way through a car and into your dash to accommodate the reversing camera supplied, so I have elected not to use the device. Sound power output is a lot lower than the original unit, a little more oomph in music power terms would be beneficial. It doesn't read BT connected phone text messages out to you or display them to read, which is very disappointing, Music player function doesn't progressively play your music files sequentially from the file you select but instead only plays sequentially the music within the selected file, same goes for its random play function, which means you don't really get a random play function and spend an inordinate amount of time scrolling through your music files to select the next album you'd like to play. The WIFI works ok when I'm parked just outside the house. I'd avoid downloading apps as they tend to make the random file over-write to your SD card and USB Sticks problem worse. All in all, the unit is ok if you want the convenience of lots of music files available to you on SD card rather than a lot of CD's rolling around and getting some basic Bluetooth phone connectivity, if you don't mind shouting at the unit to get yourself heard. Or, and doesn't have a direct music button on the front panel, your SD card can only be accessed through the soft keys on the screen. Finally the Sat Nav, basic IGO , ok but disappointingly does not have postcode input capability nor voice command ;( ALso the random app SD / usb over-write bug also appears to apply to the GPS sd card, so could someone please tell me how to download the map files to re-establish the sat nav functionality!!!

Worth the money
The fitment is spot on and looks great, functionality is good but the radio app doesn't work and google maps doesn't work sometimes, but I've noticed that's a common issue with Android head units.
