I have tried several other nutritional yeast products but always keep returning to the Marigold Health Foods Engevita Yeast Flakes. It can be used to make 'cheese' flavoured sauces or just sprinkled over salads or roast vegetables. The quality and taste is excellent. Great price point. Highly recommend.

This product is a vegan staple, it's enriched with lots of really good vitamins and minerals that you might be struggling a little to get on a vegan diet. You don't need to add a lot to your food to meet your requirements of a lot of the enriched minerals/vitamins.It has a nutty, cheesy flavour that I think you might be initially disappointed if you've recently turned vegan and heard people rave about it, but the flavour really grows on you. I use it to make vegan cheese sauce, pasties, broccoli and cheese soup, even cheesy mashed potatoes and it adds a delicious, if slightly unique, flavour to all of these foods. Personally not the sort of person who would eat it on it's own, but it's an amazing complimentary flavour.It also lasts for ages, I've been vegan 3 months and have so far used 1 full container and have 2 left (I bought the 3 pack), I will say that my use of it has scaled up as time has gone along as I've started to enjoy the flavour a whole lot more! I would also say that the 3 pack is really good value, and if you're unsure whether you'll like the flavour, unless you add loads, a spoon or so in a pan of soup will go unnoticed and give you a boost of healthy vitamins/minerals.

This is great nutritional yeast, adds flavour to all sorts of dishes and is great as a topping.

I call Engevita vegan fairy dust. They are magical flakes of yeast that leave you confounded when you realise they taste greater than the sum of their humble and rather strange looking parts.I add this to almost everything, it lends a yeasty, nutty, mushroomy, almost cheesy flavour to anything you add it too. Many will say this is a vegan cheese substitute, but that's doing these humble yeast flakes a huge disservice. For such a small quirky looking flake, they have a strong and complex flavour that tastes like nothing else. It's not comparable to anything.Saying that, I use these as a kind of 'parmesan' on pasta dishes – I grind some cashews in a coffee grinder, add to a bowl, then mix in a generous amount of engevita – about equal parts cashew to engevita, add a touch of salt and pepper.This also makes a convincing nacho 'cheese', or 'cheese' sauce. Blend cashews with almond or soya milk, add salt, pepper, generous squeeze of lemon juice, a large spoonful of tahini and lots of engevita. Blend until smooth and thick. Melted coconut oil, garlic powder and nacho flavourings optional.If you are curious and new to engevita, don't be put off by the smell. It's kind of divisive – you'll like it or hate it. I wouldn't recommend tasting them undiluted if you feel a bit iffy about them. They are strong. Best added to a dish in small quantities, as a kind of stock enhancer.

I really like the taste of this nutritional yeast some can be quite tasteless this isn't and you get a good amount 😋

Wow! This product is amazing and so tasty.The tubs are really quite large so this 3 pack is great value. I was dubious when I heard about nutritional flakes offering a tasty alternative to cheese for vegans and whilst I'm still not entirely convinced that this product is a viable alternative it is certainly a tasty one! I've so far made vegan Parmesan with it which is delicious and a far better alternative to the soy versions I've had; a 'cheese' sauce which was very pleasant and am planning on using it as a coating for some sweet potato fries, to make a vegan creamy macaroni cheese and mixing it in with some wilted spinach as apparently it goes very creamy when added to wet items. There are a multitude of recipes on the internet in which to use this product but it's equally delicious just eating it off the spoon. It's nice to know there is an easy and tasty way to get your daily B12 allowance and I am looking forward to trying this out in many recipes to come.

Add depth of flavour to stock (without massive calories), make dairy-free sauce taste cheesy, or just dip your finger in and lick for a low-calorie treat. I love this stuff!
