I know I upgraded with this
Installing the device has improved reception/transmission moderately, better on weather and FMSimple install, immediate improvement. It is very well made, way stronger than the OEM. That one the spring in the antenna broke. It is slightly less easy to carry the radio on my person, but in the boat it's not any issue. I see it as an acceptable trade off for better operation. I use it daily for work, and on my time.

Good signal boosters.
Use these with our marine HT's, and they are good.

Surprisingly Good!!!
I picked up a pair of these because they were 1/3 the cost of the bigger name brands. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they perform as well if not better than my Comet or Diamond antennas. They feel very solid with a nice flexible whip. They are inexpensive but are not cheaply made. I just bought my second pair of these and now use them exclusively on my TH-74a, ID-50 and FT5dGive them a try. Hams are always looking for a good bargain and at $16 for two you can't go wrong.

Working great on my Yeasu
Better than original rubber duck antenna.

Much less static than stock antennas
I wasn't expecting much considering the price. So far I have been very pleasantly surprised. I use them mostly for my scanner to listen to air traffic. Even inside my house, the reception is much clearer than with the stock Uniden Bearcat antenna. I also listen to sherriff frequencies on the 483 Mhz band and those are also much improved. I did have to get some SMA to BNC adapters but I was well aware of that beforehand.

Rubber duck whip
Great for amateur transceiver and monitors.

Excellent SWR on UHF, well over 5:1 SWR (unusable) on 2 Meter VHF
I purchased 2 of these for a duplex Pi-Star MMDVM hotspot and they work great for that purpose. I only run the hotspot on 70CM UHF. But I personally would not use this antenna on a dual band HT radio since this antenna (I tested both I purchased) won't tune anywhere in the 2 Meter Amateur Radio band. My conclusion: great for 70 CM UHF, but this is not a "dual band" antenna based on my measurements.
