My wife and I bought two lazy boy style armchairs. The fabric is sorta like suede. I was concerned that frequent contact with arms on armrests and back of head on headrests would dirty the fabric so I bought this product to protect it. The spray worked well but to get full coverage I had to spray the fabric until it was quite damp - I was concerned I might have overdone it and reached the saturation/dripping point warned about on the bottle (why exactly do they warn of this - will something awful happen?) but I did not. The chairs dried in less than 24 hours in an air conditioned room, no smell. The fabric appears normal in texture and color. Water test shows good beading. So at this point I am pleased with the result though whether it will actually do what I want it to remains to be seen.

I was looking for a product other than Scotch Guard as I'm trying to be more wary of the chemicals I expose my family (including pets) to. We purchased our first new sofa/ loveseat set in a beautiful seafoam green. In the past we've had used leather furniture which wipes up pretty easily, and I didn't want the new stuff to stain. I've only just applied the product in the last week, so I can't speak to how it holds up, but I followed the directions and water does now bead off of it, which gives me hope in cleaning up future messes. This is especially important given I constantly have my daughter's friends (ages 6 - 10) in and out of the house and we have a new puppy. For reference, I used about 3/4 of a bottle on my new sofa and loveseat, purposely leaving a bit behind. Then did the water test and anywhere where the water seeped in, I'd spray again with the fabric spray. It was JUST enough for both pieces of furniture, but I have this on autoship every 6 months just in case. I will add as well that it didn't really have a smell. I'm used to Scotchguard which is pretty smelly stuff, but this didn't smell at all. I still followed the directions and opened up the house a bit just in case, but again, didn't notice any smells, nor did my husband when he got home, and he's very sensitive to smells. So far so good!

I bought this to stain proof a set of dining chairs with very light colored upholstery on seats and backs The contents of the bottle was only enough to cover most, but not all of the surfaces. I reordered (a gallon this time) as it comes out much cheaper.The job of applying the chemical with the sprayer on top of the bottle is a bit tedious and can be tough on your hand muscles if you are doing a lot. I may finish the job using a chemical sprayer to make it go a bit easier. I had no problem with leakage from the sprayer.Pros: Relatively easy to apply. Very low odor. I had no leakage problems with sprayer.Cons: Doesn't go very far. Pull sprayer on bottle can be tough on hands.I can't comment on stain proofing or water resistance since I just applied it, so it is hard to assign an overall rating at this point.

I used Tri Nova stain guard years ago for kitchen stools in our heavily used beach house. A friend spilled red wine on a chair and the wine just ran off. The house was damaged during Florida's Hurricane Ian and eventually I bought a new kitchen set. I purchased a cheaper stain guard from Amazon and it did not work. I have been scrubbing stains off the new chairs, something I never had to do when I used Tri Nova. This product works and you will not have to spray the furniture over and over.
