GLS Audio Black Chrome Series Generation 4" Gold Connector Banana Plugs Banana Clips - 8 Pack (4 Reds & 4 Blacks)

I put a deck on the back of my house and installed a pair of Klipsch AW-525s connected to a Yamaha stereo receiver to enjoy iPod music and radio outside. I wanted a good pair of banana plugs to make the connections. Came across the GLS Audio Gen 4 banana plugs while doing a product search on Amazon-I read the reviews here (had not heard of GLS before), and based on the positive reviews, I purchased an 8 pack (4 red and 4 black).Installation was easy, and the plugs are of very high quality-solid and well built. They fit into the Klipsch and Yamaha terminals nice and snug. The outdoor system sounds great with this combination.As a side note, a few weeks after I installed the plugs, enthusiasts in the Salk speaker forum that I follow (I have Song Tower RTs and a Song Center RT for my basement H/T) at audiocircle.com were recommending GLS Audio. That reaffirmed my choice in GLS for the outdoor system. :-)If you're an A/V enthusiast who is serious about the sound of your system, you should give these a look. A great product for a great price. I'll be back to GLS Audio for my future sound needs.

I purchased these plugs 10 years ago and they still look new. 10 years ago, I also purchased a set of Belkin plugs and they now look silver with tiny dark spots. They’re supposed to look gold.I purchased these plugs for a few more speakers I just added to my system and to replace the Belkin ones. Now all my speakers are installed with this brand.I use 14g wire and never had any installation challenges. 12g will easily fit as well. They are a bit long but my speakers are mounted on stands so they work for me.Take it from someone that has used these plugs for 10 years. They’re fantastic!

Was very happy with this product. Nice construction, easy to assemble. Monster tool-less plugs predictably fall apart and are not re-useable as there is only enough wire left in the recess to prevent future use. Not a problem here. Monster is junk! Was not impressed with the Audioquest either, as the set screw bottoms out before setting against wire. No problem here. The only problem I can see might be that the case to the plug is heavy and could nick your stereo cabinet. I would just be careful. I really like this product so far. I prefer this to the longer GLS plugs as I need more clearance in my stereo cabinet)

These are nice plugs which I can use at some point of time in the future. Why can't I use them now? Because I got them today and realized that they wont fit into my Yamaha RX v667 AV receiver :(But the material itself seems nicely made...I want to edit. It was user error. The plugs fit just right. You need to use some force !

These banana plugs are average I suppose. The metal plug ends are a step up from the cheap plastic red and black ones, but don't expect too much. One of the tightening screws that keep the wire in place inside the plug broke while tightening, and a few of the binding posts were not fully expanded so that some male plugs do not stay securely in the female ends. Finally, the some of the small colored stickers on the plugs have already fallen off. That being said they look nice, seem solid, and transmit audio just fine. As a previous reviewer said, prepare to sweat the ends of the speaker wire with solder in order to keep it from pulling out of the plug. I used 14 gauge wire and it worked fine, and I would imagine 12 or 16 gauge wire would fit as well.

I'm normally somewhat resistant to "high-end" cables and connections. However, if I spot high-end products at a low price I'll spring a little extra. These banana plugs are very nice-looking, provide a solid connection and very suitable strain-relief. Even my wife thought they looked much better coming from the back of my speakers than bare-wire connections. Shipping was fast, and the company obviously cares a great deal about satisfying the customer and providing a quality product at a reasonable price. I'll definitely do business with them again.

Don't waste your money on these connectors! They may look nice, but their construction quality is quite poor. I bought these connectors to attach to 10 gauge speaker wire and found numerous problems with them.The set screws are quite delicate, preventing me from properly tightening the connectors to the wire.The housing is supposed to tighten over the insulation of the wire to provide strain relief, however even tightening them down all the way left them quite loose over the 10 gauge wire.One of the connectors I am unable to screw the housing together because the connector is not properly threaded.All in all I am very disappointed in these connectors and do not recommend them.

Well I'm giving these Banana Plugs Five Stars. I have them attached to my Polk Audio Speakers and they work great. The connection to the audio wires was extremely easy and this is coming from someone who didn't even know what a Banana Plug was until November 2011. They even posted a "How To" video. :) I have read from other sites higher quality Banana Plugs use screw for connections. Well these Banana Plugs even included an additional two screws in the event any are lost. Thanks ! Just FYI, because of the screw, these plugs can be unattached and used again for another audio system or when one upgrades. Another reviewer stated the screws are too small. Yes they are kinda small (slightly bigger than the ones we use on glasses) but I really don't know how much bigger they can be without interfering with the design of the product. I don't have anything to say except that I may be buying another set because of bi-wiring. GREAT PRODUCT !!!
