Premium Insectivore Diet (8 lb.) - Healthy Nutritious Chicken Based High Protein Pellet Diet - for Sugar Gliders, Hedgehogs, Opossums, Skunks & Other Insectivores

Honestly, I can't say yay or nay because unfortunately my hedgehog seemed to get accustomed to a very high protein very low fat fish based cat food in her first year of life and won't even touch treats... I can say the ingredients look promising and the kibble is quite manageable and shaped like a worm, so in all reality my hedgie should love it, so I can't give a bad rating because... alas, I've tried everything and this just seems to be another failed attempt of many to get her to expand her pallet... I suppose I have a supremely picky african pigme hedgehog! She's going to be 3 years old this coming April 16th and she's still going strong! I've never used a chemical to clean her or her cage once, just hot water for her cage and warm water baths with a toothbrush for her. And I use dawn dish soap to clean her wheel. Hot water and paper towels is all you need, they are very sensitive to unnatural environmental intrusions. And I use cut down to shape baby changing table liners that are 100% cotton as her bedding instead of loose shavings for bedding, easy clean up and no excess resource purchasing; wash that in 3 washes on a full hot wash with no detergents and it's golden. Hedgehogs are finicky but I got it down pretty well these days :)

The opossum being fostered really likes these food pellets. Unfortunately, the length of the pellets are too long for him to handle well until he grows larger. When he would grab one with his mouth, he would toss his head back to move the pellet into his mouth in order to use his teeth. This motion would result in him hitting his bottom jaw on the side of his food container (which is a very low-sided appropriate bowl). I began putting the pellets on the floor on his enclosure and this did help but not 100%. He is blind so that may be a factor as well. I will purchase this product again once he is larger to see if he is able to eat it without hurting his jaw.

My opossum that was showing up eating the outdoor, feral cat food approves of these pellets... I'm on my 3rd order of these & he/she loves them! Fast delivery, good vendor & very pleased! 😋

My pet skunks love this food - I fill their toys with it so they can play seek and find with it - we also use it as a supplement to their meals
